Vulkanspargel; forgotten vegetable

2-11-2011

Vulkanspargel is an old salad- and vegetable plant from Germany that got into oblivion. The plant is still grown in the south of Germany under the name “Catalogna puntarelle di galatina”. The taste is comparable to chicory, and the asparagus can be used as the basis of a salad. Moreover the plant has a high vitamin and mineral content in addition to its positive effect on digestive and blood circulatory.
