- Recently the third location of karaoke bar Duke of Tokyo opened at Hofplein in Rotterdam.

Plaza Athénéé in Paris
One of our last post with inspiration for Christmas, probably for 2024😉: the decorations of the courtyard garden of the Plaza Anthénéé hotel in Paris. That’s another over the top, but very stylish, lighting including a small skating rink! Check out their ‘court jardin’ in the Instagram post below. Gorgeous! Link to their website in the title.

Buying pink hot chocolate at the Harrods food truck on Knightsbridge
It remains a great idea, a food truck from Harrods in a busy shopping area where you can buy a drink, ‘pink hot chocolate’ in this case. The truck and chocolate are in the color of Valentino’s pink, glittery Christmas tree and they have a few tables and chairs set up so you can take in the splendor. KFC China celebrates the opening of its 10,000th Store
Yum China Holdings recently celebrated the opening of KFC China’s 10,000th store, marking a significant milestone in KFC China’s 36-year growth journey in the country. Situated in Hangzhou, KFC China’s 10,000th store is located on the banks of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, a historically important link connecting northern and southern China. Since opening its first store in Beijing in 1987, KFC has grown into the country’s largest QSR brand in terms of system sales. More details in their press release, link in the title.
New York Pizza opens 300th store in the Netherlands
New York Pizza is celebrating a double milestone. December 29 marks the opening of its 300th branch in the Netherlands and its 30th anniversary in 2023. It also opened a record number of branches, 28! A special achievement by the head office in collaboration with the franchisees. The 300th New York Pizza store in Breda is owned by Redouan Ahbiti, a proud New York Pizza entrepreneur. Redouan started his career as a delivery driver at New York Pizza in Rotterdam and opened his first store back in 2019 in Gorinchem. He grew unprecedentedly fast from one to eight stores. DiscoDip | Miljuschka’s culinary festival
The Dutch tv personality Miljuschka Witzenhausen celebrates her own Culinary Festival which will take place on 24, 25 and 26 May 2024 in the recreational area Bussloo on the Veluwe. According to Miljuschka, DiscoDip, will be the tastiest and most fun food festival of 2024! She serves up a festival that is all about food and fun. Enjoying the tastiest culinary offerings the Netherlands has to offer. Taste the specialties of local food heroes, from live freshly baked bread to Asian street food. Two Dutch restaurants in the 50 best Italian restaurants in the world | Pianeta Terra & restaurant Aroma
The ’50 Top Italy’ was announced in early December, see the entire list in the link in the title. Progressive slow food restaurant Pianeta Terra is ranked 23rd in the list of the 50 best Italian restaurants in the world. This makes Pianeta Terra once again the best Italian restaurant in the Netherlands, according to the jury of this leading list. Restaurant Aroma Italian Fine Dining, located in Vaassen, Gelderland, has secured an impressive place on the list. The restaurant, which only opened its doors just over two years ago, ranks 43rd.
Karaoke bar Duke of Tokyo has opened in Rotterdam
On 16 December, the third location of karaoke bar Duke of Tokyo opened at Hofplein in Rotterdam. After the success of the previously opened locations in Amsterdam and Utrecht, it is time to introduce Rotterdam to a 3.0 version of the well-known karaoke concept. Besides singing in eight private karaoke rooms and sipping on the tastiest cocktails, the food at the accompanying restaurant ‘Izakaya DUKI’ will complete your evening. Imagine yourself in a world full of neon, murals, light boards and 3D art inspired by the world’s coolest city: Tokyo.
Eating Mac ‘n Cheese Balls and Chicken & Waffles at popular brunch spot Miss G’s can now also be eaten at dinner time
Who says Miss G’s, says (boozy) brunch. This Amsterdam food pioneer since 2012 is known for its famous brunch (for example their famous Chicken & Waffles), but the restaurant is now also the hotspot for dinner. In the lively Pijp neighborhood, you’ll enjoy traditional North American soul food, with a sophisticated twist. They are now also open for dinner from Thursday to Sunday. Not only the food takes you to the American diner style, the interior has also been completely transformed.
