Last week we received a response to our article about a maze of Christmas decorations and lights in America. We wondered if there are similar mazes in Europe: apparently there is an ice maze in Poland, Snowlandia in Zakopane. Looks cool, too! NH Collection celebrates its 10th anniversary across Europe with an Anniversary Spritz
NH Collection is celebrating 10 years full of special moments: their guests experienced more than 25 million beautiful sunrises and sunsets, enjoyed more than 20 million delicious breakfasts and more than 300,000 celebratory moments at their hotels. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary with the Anniversary Spritz, an elegant cocktail available in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. Their website is linked in the title.
NH Collection’s special anniversary cocktail has a vibrant red hue with a festive feel and is served in specially engraved champagne glasses. The flavour is a balance between sweet and sour, with notes of fresh strawberry and lime juice. A hint of grenadine adds depth and richness, while the lemon twist adds freshness. The cava, an essential part of the cocktail, was specially bottled for the 10th anniversary and produced in collaboration with Barcelona’s forward-thinking Vilarnau winery.

The Ron Gastro Bowls are back at Poké Perfect
Poké Perfect has developed a few bowls in collaboration with top chef Ron Blaauw again: the Ron Gastro Bowl! This year, a Beef Rendang bowl and a Tempura Shrimp bowl. Both bowls are served hot and consists of sushi rice, sambal goreng telor (boiled egg in spicy sauce), haricot verts, pickled veggies and are garnished with emping, serundeng, garlic-chilli crunch and spring onion. The special editions make a perfect warm, winter dish for lunch or for dinner. Sounds delicious!
Dave’s Hot Chicken chain is giving away hundreds of free sandos in East London on November 20th
To announce their entry to the English market, Dave’s Hot Chicken, is flying from Hollywood to London to host a special pop-up where they’ll be giving away hundreds of free chicken sandos. In honour of their start in the US the pop-up is on a parking lot in East London.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is the real American dream: “Three childhood friends in their 20’s who scraped together $900. Our not-so-grand opening was in 2017, in a parking lot in East Hollywood, with a couple of folding tables and a portable fryer under the night sky. But thanks to Instagram, people came. And tasted. And came back with their friends. Then, the buzz brought a reporter from EATER/LA. He took a bite of his first Dave’s Hot Chicken tender, and our world changed. The next day he posted, “East Hollywood’s New Late Night Hot Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind.” With the help of many celebrities they now have many locations in the USA.
A great NYC tradition | The adult happy meal
The combo’s accessible opulence is taking over happy hour menus all over the world. In the article at Food & Wine, link in the title, they refer to the Dutch-born hospitality pro Charlotte Plas. She introduced the adult happy meal at the Conversatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. She is the new director of marketing and communications of this high-end hotel. The adult happy meal consists of stiff martinis and a bowl of French fries. She learned about this deal in NYC. A great way to end the day with colleagues. Waddle into wonder | The Penguin Parade Sculpture Trail in Fleet Street Quarter
The Fleet Street Quarter has transformed into a winter wonderland with the launch of a magical FREE penguin parade sculpture trail in support of WWF. As of November 14th, families and visitors are invited to embark on a fabulous festive adventure to discover 12 adorable penguin sculptures throughout the Quarter. Each penguin, decked out in unique festive finery designed by talented artists, is perched in iconic spots like Chancery Lane, New Street Square, Ludgate Circus, and Blackfriars, adding a splash of Antarctic charm to the City. IKEA has opened its first Swedish restaurant on the UK high street
The Swedish flatpack furniture giant IKEA has quietly opened a permanent restaurant in Hammersmith, the first of its kind in the UK. The space, has been kitted out to seat 75 diners, serving a wider range of iconic Swedish dishes, like meatballs, plantballs, children’s pasta and tomato Sauce, Fish and Chips and Salmon with Couscous and Yogurt. Cahoots Postal Office has officially landed in Borough Yards, London. Through a life-size postbox you step into a 1940s-inspired cocktail den. They have a pneumatic cocktail delivery system that whizzes drinks right to your table!
