Panda Express opens first restaurant in Europe at Ramstein Air Base in Germany
Lagardère Travel Retail is bringing the family owned and operated Panda Express from the USA to Europe. On August 2, 2022, the first restaurant in Germany opened at Ramstein Air Base. Working in close partnership with Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. the travel retail expert plans to grow the American Chinese dining concept in Europe and other military bases. Bacon Nation opens in Las Vegas
Bacon Nation will open on the second floor of the D Las Vegas on Fremont Street this fall. Their menu is going to be a love letter to all things salt-cured pork. Developed with Chef Josh Green of Skinny Fats and Greens and Proteins, the restaurant will serve a bevy of bacon-forward dishes.
The new restaurant from Downtown Hospitality Group will offer dishes that include any of 14 variations of hand-seasoned bacon, with flavors ranging from lemon pepper to brown sugar, teriyaki, Cajun, jalapeno, buffalo, salt and vinegar, applewood bourbon, truffle, and chocolate-dipped. Our Life Corner | Mango Tea Cream Cheese
Last week we published a recipe for a ‘frozen salted espresso martini’ spotted on Instagram. This week we spotted the Instagram account of ‘Our Life Corner’ from Indonesia with delicious looking drinks (link in the title). We spotted the Mango Tea Cream Cheese (check out below, the text continues below the post), but this account publishes a lot more drinks like a ‘Vanilla Popsicle Coffee Latte’ and a ‘Ice americano’ which we think would be nice to make with an espresso as well. We would love to order the Mango Tea Cream Cheese here as well!

Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently announced the opening of 7Pines Resort Sardinia, a luxury beachfront resort overlooking the archipelago of La Maddalena. Offering unparalleled tranquillity and laid-back luxury on one of Europe’s most distinctive coastlines, 7Pines Resort Sardinia represents the first hotel in Italy to join the Destination by Hyatt portfolio, as well as the first Hyatt-affiliated hotel in Sardinia. Some cities are pushing back on sidewalk robots | And ideas for peaceful coexistence
In January we spotted Geoffrey, which is a cute 10-pound delivery vehicle/robot developed by Ignacio Tartavull and Gellert Mattyus of Tiny Mile. And it was pushed of the streets of Toronto. And now in this article a likewise argument is used to keep robots of the streets in the Yaffa municipality of Tel Aviv. An interesting article with possible solutions on The Spoon, link in the title. Here the director of transportation, traffic and parking for Yaffa, sent a letter in early July to Israel’s Transportation Ministry to convey his belief that sidewalk robots from Russian tech company Yandex were a nuisance to pedestrians. Besides other arguments he uses the same concern as they did in Toronto: concern about the impact of robot traffic on low-mobility pedestrians as well as the elderly and children. As usually technique goes faster than legislation!
Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey to launch plant-based restaurant & wellness chain
Mackey (68, who will retire from Whole Foods in September) has been named as a partner in start-up Healthy America LLC, which has raised $31 million to launch the national chain. Other former Whole Foods executives are also involved. It is believed that the first Healthy America location will be based in the south of California and operate under the brand name Love Life!. CookieWay, ‘le pop-up bar à cookies de Subway’ will open this September in Paris
After New York last year, Subway is dedicating a pop-up store to its cookies in Paris from September 1st to 7th, in Châtelet, with a cookie bar! In a space described as “street and chill, with urban furniture, neon lights and frescoes”, Subway cookie lovers can try out both familiar recipes and new creations. In addition to these unique recipes, you can also create the biscuit of your dreams at the biscuit bar, with different toppings, ice creams, coulis and syrups! Chef and restaurateur Jean Georges Vongerichten opens massive Seaport marketplace
The restored historic Tin Building is located in lower Manhattan’s historic Seaport, New York. Over eight years ago, chef and restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten met with Saul Scherl, president of the New York tri-state region for the Howard Hughes Corporation, about opening a food destination in what had been the Fulton Street Fish Market in South Street Seaport. Recently, the chef and his partners opened a collection of six full-service restaurants, four bars, six counters, retail, and private dining in the entirely overhauled historic Tin Building.
