Chick-fil-A has just announced the construction of the first 75-car drive-thru in Atlanta. According to the company’s Twitter, the concept features a four-lane drive-thru that’s split into two sets.

Champagne tasting Vignerons du Terroir is expanding
Vignerons du Terroir, the champagne tasting of this year, will return to the beautiful ConcertLab in Utrecht on Sunday 1 October. This year, in addition to the champagne importers, renowned food suppliers will also be present for matching snacks. Champagne expert Anja Vondenhoff also gives four masterclasses. The champagne importers who will be present this edition to taste part of their range are: Champagne Moutardier Netherlands, Dis Donc, Bubbel Broeders, Champagne Source, Halfes, Meer Bubbels, Mrs. Champagne, Pierre Ache, Puike Wijnen and Tasty Sparkling.
Professionals are welcome from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and can register for free via Eventbrite. A contribution of €9.95 per person is requested for participation in the masterclasses. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the tasting is open to enthusiasts who want to immerse themselves in the world of Champagne. Tickets, including access to the masterclasses, are available for €39.75 via Eventbrite. Link to their website in the title.

KFC Canada bids final farewell to its bland old fries with a fry funeral and funeral procession
KFC Canada is rolling out new seasoned fries, and Canadians could try a side of them for $1 at restaurants, or order online via the website or the KFC’s app. More interesting is the way they announced the new fry recipe! The brand says its fries have been panned in the past, so it came up with a new fry recipe. A marketing campaign with an online funeral for its old fries has been created, with a livestream ‘funeral’ which was held on Aug. 1 at 12 p.m. on KFCFryFuneral.com. this way they gave Canadians the opportunity to pay their final disrespects to KFC fries. Mel’s in NYC is throwing a Michelin-star ‘Pizza Party’ this summer
Mel’s in NYC is officially kicking off their F.O.M.O (Friends Of Mel’s Oven) Pizza Series with limited-edition pizzas created by chefs Daniel Boulud, Gabriel Kreuther, Jean-Georges, and Junghyun Park. The series kicked off with Chef Daniel Boulud’s Pizza Pavillon. Inspired by one of his restaurant’s classics, the pizza features a parsley-seaweed crust, an oyster chowder base topped with oysters, potatoes, leeks and hazelnuts. Sounds delicious! The Dorian Speakeasy in The Hague
A colleague spotted the Dorian Speakeasy in The Hague on Instagram (see the post by Food Queen below) and it’s high on her ‘go-to list’. The name Dorian comes from Dorian Grey of the historic roman ‘The Picture of Dorian Grey’ by Oscar Wilde. No reservations possible and the speakeasy is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. McDonald’s will have a new spinoff restaurant called ‘CosMc’s’
McDonald’s in the USA has announced plans to open a spinoff restaurant chain called CosMc’s, promising the familiar McDonald’s DNA with a twist. CosMc, a McDonald’s-craving space alien, first appeared as a character in the McDonald’s zeitgeist in the late 80’s and early 90’s promotional advertisements. Not too many details have been unveiled but more in the article on Food Beast, link in the title.
South Korean brand LOTTE Hotels & Resorts opened the first overseas hotel in Vietnam
The largest hotel group in South Korea, L7 HOTELS BY LOTTE announced the soft opening of L7 HOTELS BY LOTTE WEST LAKE HANOI on July 28, the first overseas hotel of the brand, located in Hanoi, Vietnam. Situated within Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi, in the heart of the Tay Ho area, the largest mall complex in Vietnam totaling 353,700 sq.m in area. More details in their press release, link in the title. A new Chick-fil-A Location in Atlanta will feature a 75-car drive-thru
Chick-fil-A has just announced the construction of the first 75-car drive-thru in Atlanta. According to the company’s Twitter, the concept features a four-lane drive-thru that’s split into two sets. Two lanes are designated for mobile orders and the other two are for traditional ones. The building itself will be elevated, with pick-up orders available on the second floor. The drive-thru lanes are strategically placed below the kitchen to make it easy for employees to send food down.
