Acelerate provides next level of service for restaurant and ghost kitchens

Interesting article at Springwise (link in title) about Acelerate. An AI software company that provides a service for restaurants to manage their entire digital footprint, including orders, menu updates and marketing, from one unified platform. They just announced a €12.15 million Series A investment round led by American venture capital firm Sequoia Capital. They help the increasing number of restaurants that are selling through multiple other platforms (like Doordash, Uber Eats or GrubHub) by unifying where these platforms are managed from. Acelerate has also developed seven proprietary restaurant brands, all with their own menus, which they license to restaurants. This “host kitchen” model allows restaurants to maximize their space during downtimes and generate added revenue. It sounds like next level of AI restaurant software, but with a high fee for their monthly subscription.

Leap™ created by Beyond Leather | Vegan Leather made out of apple waste

Vegan Leather would be a great product to create aprons from to use in a sustainable restaurant!

Leap™ is created by Beyond Leather based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They combine leftovers from apple juice and cider production with natural rubber to create a plant-based leather alternative called Leap. The animal hide substitute is made by mixing apple waste with natural rubber and applying it to a textile backing made of cotton and wood fibre before finishing it with a protective coating, creating a three-layered structure that can be disassembled at the end of its life. MeaTech announced the launch of cultivated pork development

MeaTech 3D Ltd. (Nasdaq: MITC) (TASE: MITC), a technology company developing a suite of advanced manufacturing technologies to produce cultured meat products, in July announced the initiation of cultivated pork research and development activities, focusing on cell lines and technologies for the potential future mass production of cultivated pork.

This expansion of MeaTech’s research and development activities to include pork is part of its strategy to develop a broad cellular agriculture technology offering, which already includes beef and chicken cell lines. Porcine cellular agriculture, if successfully developed, has the potential to expand MeaTech’s potential addressable markets, as pork is currently the most consumed meat across the globe. Van Gogh is popular this summer!

The digital popularity of the Dutch painter is growing, with the ‘Beyond Van Gogh’ show in Anaheim, the ‘Immersive Van Gogh’ in Hollywood and the same ‘Immersive Van Gogh’ in London as well. Across a roughly half-hour loop set to a swelling classical score, you’ll watch about 300 paintings projected onto the floor, walls and a trio of portrait-shaped columns. In London the exhibition is in three parts, each one dedicated to a different section of the Dutch artist’s life. All based on the French equivalent L’Atelier des Lumières museum! We so happy we will get a ‘Fabrique des Lumières’ in Amsterdam, this new digital art center will open its doors in April 2022 and lets hope that one of their exhibitions will be the Van Gogh paintings.

Hotel Paradiso in Paris is the world’s first ‘cinema hotel’

Hotel Paradiso is the world’s first ‘cinema hotel’, opened by the independent French film company MK2 near the Place de la Nation. Each room is actually a small cinema in itself, just get yourself in bed and choose one of some 10,000 films on offer and press a button. The screen descends over the window, the lights go out and you can enjoy your own private cinema.

All rooms have carefully studied sound quality and acoustics, and are so well sound-proofed that you will never have to worry about bothering your neighbors or hearing noise from other rooms. Guests can also watch their own content from their phones or play games on the screen. And of course you have to dial 007 for room service. The hotel is built atop a MK2 multiplex with six screens and guests have all kind of possibilities to entertain friends. Situated in the 12th arrondissement, the hotel has 36 rooms. More at Paris Update, link in the title. And check out  the La La Land karaoke booth, the rooftop cinema and the image of the enormous outdoor mural!
