Leonardo Hotels enters into an agreement to acquire the Zien Group

Leonardo Hotels announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the Zien Group and its 12 hotels in the Netherlands from affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, LLC, a leading investor in travel and leisure businesses, as well as its partner, Garden Capital Group, whose shareholders founded the business. Terms were not disclosed. The transaction is scheduled to close in the second quarter of 2024 and is subject to customary closing conditions.

The sale marks a successful investment for KSL, alongside Garden Capital Group, and transforms Leonardo Hotels into one of the leading hotel chains in the region – as its portfolio in the Benelux increases to 28 hotels. The acquired platform consists of five hotels in Amsterdam and several hotels at great spots in major cities, such as Rotterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven, Groningen, and Maastricht, underlining the significant growth strategy of Leonardo Hotels Benelux. Leonardo Hotels, the European part of Fattal Hotels Group, adds 1,522 hotel rooms to its portfolio, bringing its total number of rooms in the Netherlands and Belgium to 4,161. Sleeptech or Welltech | Why focus on sleep amenities to grow a hotel’s wellness

Interesting read on eHotelier by Adam and Larry Mogelonsky, link in the title. It sounds like an almost complete list of sleeptech hotels can use to accommodate their guests’ sleep! Welltech encompasses various technologies, from labor-intensive medispa treatments to more autonomous options. For example, spa treatment rooms can be equipped for 30-minute sessions where guests are left alone, or wellness devices can be placed in guest rooms as welcome amenities. Many more examples in their article.

MAGNICITY unveils Celest at top of Zalmhaven

Magnicity’s new premium restaurant and cocktail bar are going to offer an unique experience in Rotterdam. Inspired by the story The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall (1835) by world-famous American writer Edgar Allan Poe. At Celest, visitors will soon not only be able to enjoy culinary excellence, outstanding service and a stunning 360-degree view of Rotterdam. The experience at this casual-chic and vibrant spot will be an immersive journey that already begins on the ground floor, as soon as visitors step into the lift and, like Pfaall, take the journey to the moon.

De Beren The Hague – Ypenburg opens its doors

After several months of heavy construction this restaurant finally opened: De Beren Den Haag – Ypenburg. The new restaurant, located in the Pathé Ypenburg building, is the result of a dream of two seasoned entrepreneurs to create a welcoming and cosy experience for the surrounding area. The entrepreneurial couple Dobias and Mariëlle Hoogervorst have a strong bond with the neighbourhood, they have been living there for more than 20 years. As far as they are concerned, the new restaurant will not only be a place for fine dining, but also function as a place where guests can socialise for any occasion.

Meanwhile, De Beren has 48 restaurants and 32 delivery restaurants across the country. More information on their website, link in title.
