This ice cream and bubble tea chain you’ve never heard of has more outlets than McDonald’s

We had never heard of Mixue Bingcheng (meaning honey snow ice city), but as we read in the article on CNN Business (link in the title), this budget-friendly drink giant from China now has over 45,000 outlets worldwide. Mixue Bingcheng is famous for its bubble tea offerings. They started two decades ago in the middle of China’s province Henan selling cut-price soft serve for just 1 yuan per cone. Now they have more stores than McDonald’s (worldwide about 40,000 stores) and Starbucks (worldwide about 41,000 stores). They just started trading on the stock market in Hong Kong.

Ramadan Lights London have returned to the WEST END for 2025

In 2023, Ramadan Lights made history, captivating audiences worldwide. This groundbreaking initiative, a collaboration between the Aziz Foundation, Heart of London Business Alliance, Ramadan Lights founder Aisha Desai, and Algbra, was a true labour of love. These lights on Coventry Street became the first aerial Ramadan lights in Western Europe—marking a milestone in cultural celebration. In 2024, they returned with an even more stunning, custom-designed display, illuminating Piccadilly Circus with breathtaking beauty. The Aziz Foundation’s Ramadan Lights London continues to dazzle Piccadilly Circus with over 30,000 LED bulbs, becoming a permanent annual fixture in the city’s embrace of diversity and inclusion. This spectacular display serves as a powerful symbol of unity, interfaith harmony, and the vibrant multicultural spirit of London. More than just a visual spectacle, these radiant lights welcome people of all backgrounds, fostering a shared celebration of Ramadan’s values of peace, togetherness, and reflection. The Hoxton Florence opens its doors

The Hoxton Florence at Via delle Mantellate 2, opens its doors and is the brand’s second hotel in Italy, following the launch of The Hoxton, Rome in 2021. The Hoxton Florence is located at the heart of the historic centre. The hotel has 161 rooms spread across two buildings: a 16th-century late-Renaissance palazzo with its original façade and impressive vaulted arcade, and a 1980s building designed by Andrea Branzi, which provides a modern contrast with its wooden exterior façade and minimalist architecture.

The hotel is home to restaurant Alassio, an Italian restaurant with coastal influences, and Enoteca Violetta, a lively, laid-back wine bar. More details in their press release, linked in the title. The Hoxton is introducing a brand new room category: House, a spacious and stylishly decorated flat with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a dining area, a cosy lounge, an outdoor terrace and a private entrance. They also have a ‘Best of’ shop in the lobby. Guests have free use of Sergio Bianchi bikes to explore the city. In addition, special ‘mates rates’ are available at Yoga Garage and Anytime Fitness. Weekly running sessions with Runners of Florence start at The Hoxton!

Shrink and Print | 3D printed colour figures

Spotted on the Instagram account of Battersea Beat: Shrink and Print! A cute, new and rather expensive activity in London at 10 Hebden Place, right next to Nine Elms Station. A mini 3D model of yourself or together with your loved one is a fun unique gift for those who already have everything. And it’s the ultimate bride and groom model on your own wedding cake. We imagine it as an expensive photobooth, perhaps it will become as popular as the prices are going down!

Prêt-à-Portea the high fashion take on afternoon tea from London is now also as The Red Carpet Collection in Los Angeles

The Maybourne Beverly Hills launched Prêt-à-Portea, the legendary fashion tea from its London sister hotel, The Berkeley. Prêt-à-Portea: The Red Carpet Collection, reflecting its new LA home will feature a curation of cakes that pay homage to iconic red carpet moments, from Björk’s famous Oscar swan dress by Marjan Pejoski to JLo’s infamous green Versace gown at the Grammy’s. Served in the hotel’s Terrace Tearoom just round the corner from fashion favourite Rodeo Drive, guests will be able to enjoy a glamorous tea experience where English garden charm meets Hollywood chic. The pastries, crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Brooke Martin, are presented on peach and white striped bone China by French porcelain brand Bernardaud. The Red Carpet Collection launched on Friday 28th February 2025 and will be served Friday through Sunday each week with two seatings at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. The experience includes a selection of delectable tea sandwiches, scones, and savoury delights, along with nine gorgeous couture-inspired desserts, and a glass of champagne.
