UK’s first selfie cappuccino or ‘selfieccino’
Your selfie on the froth of your cappuccino (or any other images or messages you want). It’s now possible at The Tea Terrace in London. Check out Instagram for examples of the ‘selfieccino’, we definitely expect more of them to show up the upcoming months on social media like Instagram!
Food Events around the globe in January

At the website of Fine Dining Lovers you can find the unmissable gastronomic events happening in January 2018. With amongst others, the Napa Valley Truffle Festival, the Care’s Ethical Chef Days in Italy, Madrid Fusion in Spain and Ikra in Sochi, Russia. Three-Michelin-Star restaurant Azurmendi developed 18 different menus for allergies
Although most chefs are doing their best to accommodate those with allergies on the spot, chef Eneko Atxa has developed 18 different menus. His restaurant Azurmendi (located just outside Bilbao, in a vineyard) is number 38 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list and covers all the dietary requirement their guests might have. We’re still in the first week of 2018, still rethinking the Christmas season and the first Valentine’s Day offers are coming our way! But hé, Valentine’s Day is only 6 weeks away! The Mandarin Oriental is teaming up with Christian Louboutin to offer a special stay package called “Be my Parisian Valentine By Christian Louboutin.” Guests who book this package in February will receive beauty products, and a lip and eye application at the luxury accessories brand’s Christian Louboutin Paris Beauté boutique.
Staffless gyms pop up in China without annual fee
A number of startups are setting up in China offering staffless gyms for the public. The latest, Supermonkey, has no annual fee, with users instead paying each time they attend. The founder discovered that nearly every gym she went to required annual fees, which seemed unreasonable to her, so she came up with the idea of opening a 24/7 self-service gym by herself.
Supermonkey has gymbox containers in Shenzhen and other Chinese cities featuring treadmills, elliptical machines, Marpo rope pulling machines, and rowing machines. Users can get a one-time PIN code to access the gymboxes via WeChat and then book a time slot and pay for their session.
