Overlooking the rooftops of Belgravia and Knightsbridge, and with sweeping views of Hyde Park and Winter Wonderland, The Berkeley’s rooftop garden will once again transform into a twinkling festive forest cinema. Guests will snuggle into wooden huts laden with blankets to watch Christmas classics on the big screen whilst warming up with a menu of alpine and winter favourites and flowing Laurent-Perrier champagne for a touch of extra sparkle. Screenings of festive favourites like ‘Home Alone’ and ‘The Holiday’ at the Rooftop Winter Cinema will take place from 15th November ~ 31st December 2019. Reservations will open today, November 4.
Great idea for other hotels with rooftops in the holiday season! Even cinemas could work together with restaurants to surprise their guests with the combination of watching a great ‘holiday season’ movie while enjoying a great meal.
The Rooftop Winter Cinema | A pine-lined outdoor private cinema
This pine-lined outdoor theatre is London’s only rooftop private cinema intimately accommodating just eight guests per viewing. Adding a stylish sprinkle of rustic chic are four handmade wooden chalet-inspired cabins, custom made to cozily fit two guests each. Wrapped up in blankets and armed with hot water bottles, guests will enjoy two cult festive classics daily. The first showing at 5.15pm, which welcomes both children and their grown up companions is ‘Home Alone’ followed by ‘The Holiday’ at 7.45pm for adults.
Enjoying a delicious menu while watching a festive favourite
Guests can pre order festive fayre, choosing from three different menus all nodding to a different ski destination. Dishes include a decadent truffle macaroni cheese and spiced beef hot dogs from the Aspen menu, cheese fondue and a truffle-topped potato rosti from Gstaad, and delicious tartiflette from Courchevel. Mulled wine will be served on arrival, and Laurent-Perrier will be on hand to pour a trio of fine champagnes for a final flourish of Christmas glamour. Each guest will receive a festive treat from The Berkeley kitchens to take home with them.
The cinema’s smaller guests will be spoilt with bottomless hot chocolate throughout the screenings and can feast on a menu of mini burgers and French fries, and brownies and cream.
