We already wrote about ‘The fairy floss dessert burger’ in our ‘trends we spotted in week 20’ and although we suspect a high level of sweetness, we love to show you their very Instagrammable images. Another experiment with cotton candy!
This Fairy Floss Dessert Burger contains a cloud of cotton candy with edible flowers, dried fruit, popping candy and magical dust. When you pour coconut milk over it, the cotton candy dissolves and the hidden hamburger appears, made from a brioche bun, honeycomb ice and white chocolate matcha sauce.
The Long Story Short Café
Co-owners Ly Nguyen and Dario D’Agostino have opened their Long Story Short Café in Brunswick after their first café in Port Melbourne. They serve all day Breakky, have an adult only menu section and serve lunch. Expect classic Long Story Short dishes like corn fritters with a riso venere salad topped with hot paprika babaganoush, crème fraiche, kimchi popcorn and a soft poached egg, or the pistachio crumbed fish tacos with purple cabbage, coriander, pint and lime mayo. They also serve pancakes, smoothies, a chocolate sphere (hot chocolate poured over a chocolate ball to reveal a marshmallow stack hidden beneath and the Fairy Floss Dessert Burger. As the Aussies say: a topnotch breakky joint!
