The Avocado Show Boutique | ‘To stay, to go, to deliver’ concept
The Amsterdam entrepreneurs Ron Simpson and Julien Zaal expanded ‘The Avocado Show’ with ‘The Avocado Show Boutique’ – an all-day counter concept that helps locals to eat their daily recommended dose of pretty healthy food. The first boutique opened this month at the Willemsparkweg in Amsterdam Zuid. With this launch follows the long-awaited international expansion of The Avocado Show.
The Avocado Show Boutique | Eat in, take away, delivery
The boutique is the best of The Avocado Show in a ‘to stay, to go, to deliver’ concept. The compact all-day menu includes avocado toast, salads, poké bowls and social media favorite the Avogarden, which are ordered, made and served within minutes. The Avocado Show Boutique has space for about 15 guests, the terrace doubles that. An exclusive collaboration at the moment, with Foodora brings The Avocado Show in a circle of 2.5 kilometers to everyone. “This way many more guests and locals in Amsterdam can enjoy The Avocado Show.”
Even Instagrammable at home
“To get the artful avocado creations just as beautiful on your own kitchen table as in The Avocado Show was another big challenge. Customized packaging turned out to be the solution. By perfectly connecting the dishes and the packaging, dishes can be transported well protected. We also saw that our menu works best on a dark background, so we opted for dark and sustainable packaging to bring back our style of food photography and the brand philosophy in every order.” The star of the show remained unchanged: the sustainably produced and socially responsible Hass avocado.
The Avocado Show goes international
With the opening of the first boutique, The Avocado Show is ready for the international ambitions of the owners Simpson and Zaal. At the end of 2017, the duo received a multi-million investment from the Orange Wings investment firm of avocado lovers Shawn Harris and Adrielle Dankier. Zaal said: ‘Before the restaurant was open, we already had 80 franchise requests. Meanwhile, the counter stands at more than 200 interested parties around the world. Yet the entrepreneurs do not rush their expansion. “We do not want to open random businesses. With The Avocado Show we are really going for a city takeover with multiple locations: a restaurant, several boutiques and a handy kiosk formula located at stations. We want to do it right.” The first international franchise has already been signed and remains close to home.
About The Avocado Show
The Avocado Show opened in March 2017 as the first avocado restaurant in Europe. Even before they opened, the restaurant of Ron Simpson and Julien Zaal had 50,000+ fans on social media, without media investment publications in 60+ countries and more than 80 franchise applications. Meanwhile the fanbase has grown to 100k + on Instagram and 65k + on Facebook. The Avocado Show serves pretty healthy food, dishes that revolve around the avocado and the show, but also the taste and presentation. Because a nice appearance is only fun if the content, and in this case also the taste, is just as good. Classic avocado dishes and creative creations fill the menu that was inspired and created by a collaboration with fellow avocado fans Jaimie van Heije and Colette Dike (Fooddeco). They are all prepared with environmentally and socially responsible avocados.
