Week of the Brick-and-Mortar Store
Local stores organize festive activities during the ‘Week of the Brick-and-Mortar Store‘ to celebrate the power of brick-and-mortar stores with their customers. Betjeman & Barton Amsterdam is one of the stores participating in this initiative. In 1992, Betjeman & Barton established itself in the Netherlands, initially with one store in The Hague, followed by a second. In 2022, a third store opened at Jan Evertsenstraat 23H in Amsterdam. Betjeman & Barton importers Marc and Dineke van Bommel allow culinary enthusiasts to enjoy more than 100 varieties of quality tea, unique delicacies, and everything related to the dining table.
A lot to taste at Betjeman & Barton Amsterdam during the ‘Week of the Brick-and-Mortar Store’
“We are participating in the ‘Week of the Brick-and-Mortar Store’ to raise awareness of our store in De Baarsjes, a neighbourhood that is not yet known as a fun and trendy neighbourhood in Amsterdam,” says Dineke van Bommel. On Saturday, May 6, consumers can participate in a tea tasting, which will address, among other things, the differences between tea and herbs, and taste buds will be delighted with delicious bites that match the tea. Participants can register in advance, and after the event, they can shop with a 10% discount. Furthermore, throughout the ‘Week of the Brick-and-Mortar Store,’ we will offer tastings of our tea and delicacies that we sell in the store. More information about the tasting can be found on our website.”

About Betjeman & Barton
Betjeman & Barton is a small authentic high-quality tea brand from Paris, founded in 1919 by the British Arthur Betjeman and Percy Barton, who later joined him. All tea is self-sourced, and in addition to the assortment of classic teas, creating unique and well-balanced tea blends is one of their specialties. Only natural essences and flavors are added to the scented tea varieties. In addition, there is an extensive range of herbal blends.
In the Netherlands, Dineke and Marc van Bommel are the official importers. The tea is available at the Betjeman & Barton stores at Aert van der Goesstraat 1 and the Denneweg 25c in The Hague, and at the Jan Evertsenstraat 23H in Amsterdam. Additionally, the tea is sold by a number of Dutch resellers and on the website.
