We can’t say it often enough: celebrate the start of the Christmas season! Festive restaurant Grace is leading by example.
A festive moment will take place at festive restaurant Grace on November 19: the tree-lighting of no fewer than thousands of lights in the giant 6-metre-high Christmas tree. This iconic moment not only marks the start of the festive Christmas season, but also unveils the largest Christmas tree that has ever been shown in a restaurant in Rotterdam. Situated in the centre of the restaurant, the tree rises from the ground all the way up to the 6-metre-high ceiling of the recently renovated premises on the Coolsingel. A walking lunch on a Sunday afternoon in dinner jacket or cocktail dress with acts including Mariah Carey look-a-likes, dancers, Mandy McCandy and singer Frank in Person.

“Every year, Rotterdam eagerly awaits the annual lighting of the Christmas tree in front of City Hall. This year, we decided not to wait it out, but to take matters into our own hands and celebrate the start of the Christmas season spectacularly at Grace. Anyone that does fancy a hefty dose of festive Christmas spirit can indulge their heart’s content with us,” says business manager Michelle Rila.
The festive tree-lighting will take place between 14:00 and 18:00. Guests can book a special walking lunch for 25 euros, where they will be provided with tasty bites throughout the afternoon. The afternoon will be accompanied by renowned drag queen Mandy McCandy and musically dressed by Frank Sinatra impersonator Frank in Person. Everyone is invited to look their Christmas best: gentlemen in dinner jackets and women to discover their inner Mariah Carey. And yes, a touch of sexy is definitely welcome!

Also during Christmas, Grace is ready to pamper their guests all day long with breakfast and lunch (à la carte). For dinner, there is a choice between à la carte or a special chef’s menu for the whole table. During these days, guests can also expect plenty of entertainment, enchanting dancers and, once again, the vocal magic of Mandy McCandy. On Christmas Eve, Rotterdam icon Lee Towers will provide the necessary Christmas nostalgia.
