Skyview De Pier
The construction of the fairy wheel on De Pier is a fact! Besides beautiful views, you will be able to enjoy delicious food here as from next month. Bram Kosterink interviewed Perry Oerlemans, the initiator of the fairy wheel and the owner of Skyview Attractions for us.
Fairy wheel Pier
Last week they started with the preparations of the 40 meter high fairy wheel. About 36 gondolas will give you an amazing view over the beach of Scheveningen. The view will be amazing but next to that will the gondolas feature a table to enjoy a snack and something to drink. The gondolas have place for 6 people and feature both air conditioning and an extractor, which makes the gondolas nice in the summer and winter.
What can I eat?
Although the fairy wheel is not even there yet, we already know what we will on the menu in the gondolas! For example you can have a cup of coffee with pastry, a quick lunch, a high tea or tapas and sushi, but you’re also welcome for a drink and a bitterbal (small croquets). For the food the people behind the fairy wheel will team up with some of the restaurants located on De Pier. Tickets can be reserved in advance and when you arrive you get a menu from which you can choose your favourite dish and drink. Once one of the gondolas is free and your food is prepared, you can enter the gondola for a ride of between 20 or 40 minutes, depending on your deal.
The remaining gondolas
Of the six remaining gondolas, five are reserved for disabled people in a wheelchair, these gondolas do not feature a table. The last gondola is the very special. This VIP gondola is completely made out of glass, even the floor! Upholstered with leather is this gondola perfect for the champagne arrangement. “The idea for this gondola is to use it for proposals and we are looking if it’s possible to use this gondola for the ceremony as well.” says Perry Oerlemans.
Skyview De Pier
The fairy wheel is expected to open this July. The fairy wheel will be open from 10:00 until 20:00/22:00 throughout the week and in the weekend until 22:00. Not hungry? No problem, for only € 9,= do you have access to the gondola without food or drinks, children pay € 7,=.
