Sausage atelier of Brandt & Levie by crowdfunding
Jiri, Geert and Samuel of Brandt & Levie sausage makers started more than three years ago their own sausage shop. This autumn Brandt & Levie want to move to the ‘Houthavens’ in Amsterdam, here they want to make one of their dreams come true. They want to open their own sausage atelier consisting of a work area and a small butcher shop. The workarea is a place where guests can make their own sausage and where new experiments can be seen, smelled and tasted. They want to give workshops, receive schools and organize events to inspire others to make their own sausage. At the small artisan butcher, products can be tasted and purchased.
Brandt & Levie
Four years ago Jiri, Geert and Samuel learned the craft of sausage making in Italy, after which they decided to start their own sausage butchery. “With Brandt & Levie, we want to make the tastiest sausage of the Netherlands in a way that is good for everyone in the chain. That’s why we make our sausage of well kept Dutch pigs and we process the product from nose to tail“ according to the men. Quality without compromise is an important focus at Brandt & Levie. That’s why, they work closely with their partners, like four pig farmers.
Crowdfunding
The building in Amsterdam needs to be completely renovated and decorated. Through crowdfunding, Jiri, Geert and Saumuel are trying to gather € 50.000, – within 10 weeks. Everyone can invest in the sausage shop, by which at the same time you buy a exclusieve sausage package or a workshop and dinner at a sharp price. The crowdfunding campaign has been running since 15 October 2014.
