Design and location of garden restaurant Madunia
Located in the hills of Cap Negret, the garden restaurant offers panoramic views of the surrounding bay. The indoor area has a rooftop terrace with views of Ibiza’s famous sunsets. One of the most remarkable aspects of the restaurant’s design is its seamless integration with the surrounding natural terrain. The architects managed to use the challenging hillside location to their advantage and create intimate dining spaces on different levels.
During the design and construction process of restaurant Madunia, the impact on the surrounding nature was carefully considered. The team adhered to strict guidelines to minimise disturbance to the ecosystem. From the composite colour palette to the use of artisanal works, every element of the venue reflects a balance between luxury and nature. Check out the impression on their website!
Executive chef Ivan Arauz Beusink
Executive chef Ivan Arauz Beusink, trained at several Dutch restaurants with Michelin stars, combines his Latin American roots with fine dining techniques. Ivan’s menu is fully in line with the Spanish way of dining: enjoying a table full of tasty dishes together with friends and family.
The team takes its inspiration from everything the island has to offer. This translates into the dishes and drinks that perfectly complement the restaurant’s unique setting and design. Madunia’s menu is a celebration of seasonal and local flavours. At the heart of the kitchen is a large Josper grill where the chefs cook on an open flame, resulting in pure-looking dishes full of bold flavours.
“With this menu, I want to give the stage to Ibiza’s stunning biodiversity. From the exquisite local Gamba Roja to the exceptional quality of Spanish Wagyu,” Ivan tells. “In Madunia cuisine, we use what the surrounding sea, land and air has to offer us. We work closely with local fishermen who bring in their catch with a small-scale fleet. But also with island butchers to develop the perfect dry-aged meat and with farmer cooperatives for the most up-to-date supply from the land. What Mother Earth gives us in each season is reflected on the guest’s plate.”
Reservations are now open, Madunia will be open to guests as of June 8. Looks like they are still looking for staff, might be a great experience to work on Ibiza!
A pop-up of Mr Porter is also opening on Ibiza this summer.
