Ms.Chelin is a welcoming haven in the historic center of Amsterdam where delicious food and a laid-back atmosphere seamlessly come together. The restaurant primarily caters to locals and businesses in the vicinity. Ms.Chelin is an initiative by Hans Brinker, catering company Hotmamahot, and advertising agency 180/DDB Amsterdam.

Simple but excellently prepared dishes on the menu at restaurant and bar Ms.Chelin

At Ms.Chelin, they show – and let you taste – that it doesn’t all have to be fancy and expensive if you want to eat well. On the menu are simple but excellently prepared dishes. Think of an Amsterdam pastrami sandwich with melted cheese and pickles or a homemade smashburger with piccalilli mayonnaise from Amsterdam’s pickle king Kesbeke. Also on the table will be a jar of pickled red cabbage with apples from Kesbeke, created exclusively for Ms.Chelin. Can’t get enough? Then buy a jar to take home. Other dishes on the menu include home-made rendang and a Waldorf salad. By the way, many meat dishes also have vegetarian options, such as the delicious jackfruit rendang. On Sundays, Ms.Chelin serves an extensive Sunday brunch after which you can linger for a pleasant day. All dishes and drinks are prepared with top products, according to their own recipe.

Seasonal cocktails with Amsterdam vodka

The large windows next to the entrance of hostel Hans Brinker and restaurant Ms.Chelin (enter and then turn left) offer a view from de Kerkstraat of the large bar and restaurant behind it. Soft colors adorn the walls and ceiling of the former nunnery. Wooden tables and chairs make it an intimate and casual place. Behind the bar, some original cocktails are shaken alongside classics, made with seasonal ingredients. They work a lot with producers from Amsterdam, such as spirits from ‘De Lokaliteit’ and water from ‘Amsterdam Water’. Heineken flows from the tap, there is a choice of specialty beers and the wine list also includes a number of nature- and orange wines for enthusiasts.
