For cocktails you had to be in Amsterdam this month, cocktail month September started with the Amsterdam Cocktail Week and now ends with the special whisky experience the Planet Ardbeg Tour. From September 28 untill the 30^th , experience four special signature Ardbeg cocktails at the famous cocktail bars: Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, LuminAir, J.D. Williams whisky bar and Bar Feijoa. Each cocktail bar serves a cocktail based on one of the three editions of whisky brand Ardbeg, on which the ‘Planet Ardbeg’ comic book is also inspired.

Where there’s smoke, there’s Ardbeg Ten Years, Ardbeg Wee Beastie or Ardbeg an Oa

Ardbeg whisky is the world’s most awarded single malt whisky due to its distinctive peaty and smokey flavour. Ardbeg’s unique character has made the brand popular among anyone who characterize themselves as extremely dedicated in everything they do. With this target audience in mind, Ardbeg entered the world of graphic novels. Inspired by the flavour profiles, history and distillation techniques of three distinct Ardbeg editions: Ardbeg Ten Years, Ardbeg Wee Beastie and Ardbeg an Oa, the comic book ‘Planet Ardbeg’ was created in collaboration with three pioneering international comic artists. Now Planet Ardbeg is coming to life in Amsterdam, with each participating cocktail bar telling a unique story.

Planet Ardbeg Tour Amsterdam

In collaboration with cocktail bars Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, LuminAir, J.D. Williams whisky bar and Bar Feijoa, Ardbeg is introducing a three-day Planet Ardbeg Tour in the capital. Each bar, with its own take on Ardbeg’s flavour profile, has put its own signature Ardbeg cocktail on the menu. Step into flagship Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, or any of the other bars, where Planet Ardbeg comes to life. Experience an out-of-this-world experience and discover the versatility and smokey flavour of Ardbeg whisky. Travel through multiple locations with a passport, available in the cocktail bars, and receive one of the limited edition Planet Ardbeg comic books.

Signature Ardbeg cocktails

The following smokey whisky cocktails are on the Planet Ardbeg menu: Flying Dutchmen Cocktails combines the sweetness of the most complex Ardbeg Ten Years Old with strawberry aperitif, aromatic plant elixir and hazelnut balsamic vinegar in the ‘Attack of the Sea Serpent’ cocktail.

The Ardbeg Wee Beastie is known for being the rawest and smokiest Ardbeg ever. Cocktail bars Feijoa and J.D. Williams each introduce a separate cocktail based on the intense flavour of this whisky. In the ‘Shenron’s Breath’, Bar Feijoa combines the Wee Beastie with lemon juice, grenadine, orange and frothy bitters. J.D. Williams opts for a combination of terva, pine liqueur and dandelion bitters in ”The Smoke Signal’ cocktail.

LuminAir serves the Ardbeg an Oa combined with raspberry puree, pineapple syrup and coconut, among others. Find your favourite by trying them all.

The Planet Ardbeg Tour runs from the 28^th of September until the 30^th of September during the regular opening hours of the participating cocktail bars.
