Perfect Day | Cow’s milk without cows
Are you over soy milk? Done with almond? Perfect Day Foods introduces a new alternative: cow milk without cows! This dairy free milk will be available late 2017 and is made with a process similar to craft brewing. Using yeast and age-old fermentation techniques, they make the very same milk proteins that cows make. Milk reinvented: sustainable and delicious.
Cow milk without cows
Perfect Day creates the same milk proteins that cows make (whey and casein) by genetically engineering a strain of yeast that produces milk proteins during fermentation. They add a special mix of plant-based sugars, fats, and minerals. They didn’t add any stabilizers, hormones and lactose. The process to create Perfect Day milk is much more energy efficient that the traditional dairy from cows. By the end of 2017 they will start with the roll out of products like chocolate milk, cheeses and desserts in a later stage.
Perfect Day
It started in 2014 with two guys, a big idea, and a shared passion for cheese and it has quickly grown into a company on a mission to create a world of delicious animal-free dairy products. They didn’t want to give up their favourite foods so they brought together a diverse team of chefs, food designers, nutritionists, scientists and engineers. Their mission: to empower people to enjoy the dairy foods they love while making the world a kinder, greener place. Zero compromise required. They work closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on how to label their product. It must be difficult if you’re able to reproduce the same milk proteins, can you label them vegan because it’s cow milk without cows?
