Chocolate beer, honey-beer, tobacco beer… We now spotted coffee beer! Anchor coffee, a small coffee company in Japan and brewery Sekinoichi in Japan have developed a unique coffee beer. A drink for the real coffee and beer lover! During the brewing process of the beer they added coffee beans, the bitterness and aroma of coffee gives the beer a deeper flavor. To save costs, existing bottles have been used and are covered with small bean-shaped stickers. The packaging is designed by Nendo. Both villages where the coffee company and brewery are located, were destroyed by the tsunami in 2011. The coffee beer is a charity project to fundraise for disaster relief.

Cup of coffee with your own picture

24-6-2013

Earlier we saw baristas that turn a simple cup of coffee into a wonderful creation, like Mike Breach. At Lets Caffe in Taiwan they make a very special and creative latte art of photos. The café serves coffee with a print of your own photo. Guests can give a picture of themselves or their label and it will be placed in the coffee machine. The coffee machine makes a perfect copy of the picture of cacao powder on the cup of coffee.

The (cold) weather in the Netherlands is currently a ‘hot’ topic. The Douwe Egberts coffee café responds to that in a great way. Every week they give coffee advice based on the weather. For example with cold weather they advise a choc-au-lait or when the sun shines an Ice-Cappuccino. The drinks are bit easy chosen but a nice idea.

Incredible coffee art

Barista Mike Breach turns a simple cup of coffee into a wonderful creation. The draws detailed images into his lattes and make real coffee art. Earlier we saw a cup of coffee elevated to true art with the 3d latte art. But we think that Mike Breach is the Rembrandt in latte art…… He should be able to show his art at our recently opened Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam ;-).
