Postillion Hotels pays off the student debt of their employees with 2.50 euros per worked hour. This repayment is in addition to the regular salary of the employees. With this initiative, the hotel chain hopes to be able to take away some financial struggles so there is more room for growth and development. The initiative is the result of a graduation project by students of Hotel Management School Maastricht.

Hospitality social media platform Nocto recently secured half a million euros in funding to perfect its platform, grow its team and expand beyond Rotterdam to The Hague, Breda, Utrecht, Amsterdam and other larger cities in the Netherlands this summer. On the app, consumers share photos and videos from venues and events. This content is visible to both their followers and users within ten kilometres. This July 1st, ‘Free Heri Heri For All’ will take place. Free Heri Heri For All was developed by KIP Republic in memory of the history of slavery and to connect history with the present. The first edition took place in 2020 with 4,000 free dishes that were distributed across all Amsterdam city districts, the event has since grown into a nationwide celebration with more than 20,000 Heri Heri dishes that will be distributed in eight provinces this year. Free Heri Heri unites society in remembrance of the history of slavery.

Ghost kitchen chain Casper from Belgium is going to expand to the Netherlands

Casper, the fast-growing ghost kitchen chain in Belgium, announced it has raised €5 million in a Series A financing led by Amsterdam-based Slingshot Ventures, in partnership with serial entrepreneurs Zhong Xu & Jan Hollez (Deliverect) and Jürgen Ingels (Smartfin).

With this injection Casper will expand to various locations in the Netherlands (The Hague, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Utrecht), France (Lille) in the third quarter of this year and Luxembourg will follow in the fourth quarter. As of Q2 2024, Casper aims to have 50 international locations.
