Who doesn’t have this childhood memory? Sneaking a few spoonful’s of raw dough when your mom or grandmother was baking cookies. Remember sneaking too much until you were sick? Nowadays you can buy ‘raw cookie dough’ in the supermarket in America and this week a ‘ready-and-safe-to-eat raw cookie dough’ restaurant will open in Greenwich Village in New York. According to owner Kirsten Tomlan a place where you can enjoy ‘raw cookie dough’ mixed with ‘normal cookies’ and many more ingredients. Please be aware of this lesson from grandmothers: “don’t let your eyes be bigger than your stomach otherwise you will be nauseous!” read more

Edible Cinema | Food as extra experience during the movies

During the events of ‘Edible Cinema’ guests get a package of food before the movie starts. The small dishes in the package are numbered and you are not allowed to eat them until the numbers correspond with the numbers shown in the movie. This way, aroma, texture and taste create a more unique experience during certain scenes within the movie. read more

If you have ever eaten at Mussel & Gin in Amsterdam you must have noticed their gin mayonnaise, served with the food. The mixture of ‘Zaanse Mayonaise’ and Bobby’s Dry Gin has been created back in 2014, but is now also available to take home in a tube. The tube gin mayo can be purchased separately for € 1.95 at the restaurant. read more

Workout-powered gym boat to cruise the Seine in Paris

We think it would be great to have a workout-powered gym boat in the canals of Amsterdam as well. But for now the International design and innovation office Carlo Ratti Associati has teamed up with fitness equipment manufacturer Technogym, architecture group Terreform ONE and the urban regeneration institute URBEM to present the Paris Navigating Gym. This will be a fitness vessel that moves along the Seine River by harnessing energy from the workouts of their passengers.

On average one out of ten people in the world are lefthanded. According to a Dutch article ‘Wetenschap in Beeld’ a cork screw is one of the worst obstacles for lefthanded people. In order to solve this problem Pulltex, producer of cork screws, developed a special version of the corkscrew for lefthanded people with another direction of rotation. De ‘Pullparrot’ has a double lever and an extra-long spiral. read more

In this challenge, a group of people remains ‘frozen’ like a mannequin while someone walks around with a camera and captures the scene.
