Last week Waitrose supermarket in Great Britain started selling the pineberry. The white strawberry tastes like pineapple but looks like an unripe strawberry orignally grows in South America. Up to seven years ago the fruit was threatened with extinction. They are grown in Dutch greenhouses but the availability is limited in The Netherlands.

A jug that checks your milk

Cravendale has developed a milk jug that will warn you when the milk is sour. With a simple ph-sensor at the bottom of the jug, the acidity of the milk is measured to determine whether you can still drink the milk or not. On the outside an LCD screen that indicates whether the milk is fresh or sour.

Guillaume Pérusse, student design at the UQAM, invented a ring of dough that keeps spaghetti together. In a pan of boiling water the edible ring slip off so the spaghetti is cooked separately.

This Mortlach 70 whiskey from Scotland is officially the world’s oldest whiskey. This whiskey is 70 years old and has an alcohol content of 46.1%. A total of 54 large and 162 small bottles are produced. The large bottles are sold for £ 9,999 while the smaller bottles are solf for £ 2,499.
