This laser cut seaweed is developed by international ad agency I&S BBDO for the umino laser seaweed shop. There are 5 designs: ‘sakura’ (‘cherry blossoms’), ‘mizutama’ (‘water drops’), ‘asanoha’ (‘hemp’), ‘kikkou’ (‘turtle shell’) and ‘kumikkou’ (‘tortoise shell’). Based on the elements of the Japanese history and Japanese symbols.

This yearlong design exploration project, is created through the progressive minds of 19 emerging designers from across the globe, resulted in a prototype of a futuristic night club. Hotel and public square in one

OOIIO Architecture designed an open space on the lower level of a new hotel in Reykjavik that can be used as a theater, including restaurants, shops and the hotel lobby facing it. ‘Blueseed’ is co-founded by Max Marti, Dario Mutabdzija and lead by Peter Thiel. The floating city will be located in international waters of the Silicon Valley and is especially designed for starting entrepreneurs. The Blueseed project offers living space, work space and entertaiment facilities to foreign start-ups. The goal is that the Blue Seed opens in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Emart in South-Korea has found a way to attract more customers during lunch. Between 12 am and 1 pm they make a QR-code becomes visible by the sunlight. The consumer that schans the Sunny Sale QR-code will receive a voucher of 12 euros for home products. Sales increased by 25 percent during lunch.

The Water Discus Hotel in Dubai is a hotel that is partially located under water. The 21 rooms are below the surface of the sea. The windows of the rooms are high, so you have a good view of the sea life. The restaurant, spa and reception are above the waterline. It’s unknown when the hotel opens.

The two French inventors Phillipe Starck and David Edwards have developed a spray that makes you temporarily drunk. To stimulate your brain you need only 0,075 ml of the ‘Wahh Quantum Sensations’. The drunkenness you get then is not a state but more a emotion, this make you feel light headed but you don’t lose your senses. A spray costs 20 euros and sprays 21 times.

Insights of Utrecht

They build small venues to finally create a bar in the city centre, named straatlokaal (dutch for street local). Born Digital will tell the story behind the materials. With the project, you discover the insight of these districts in Utrecht. This project takes place from May 5 until May 10.
