Mario’s Freaky Ice Bar | Haute ice cream parlour
We have seen the evolution of traditional snack bar into haute friture by Michelin star chefs. Ron Blaauw takes it to another level, from today on we have a new trend, described by us as the Haute ice cream parlour. Or bluntly said culinary ice cream for everyone!
From today on The Fat Dog by Ron Blaauw has a pop-up ice cream bar. Named by the chef patissier of Ron’s restaurants, Mario Barrios. We had a short interview about his new pride. “We’re already serving our guests an ice cream next to bill at Ron’s Gastrobar in Amsterdam.” says Mario. Because of the enthusiastic reactions of their guests they are now opening the new pop-up bar.
Mario’s Freaky Ice Bar
The pop-up bar, named Mario’s Freaky Ice Bar is open for business and will be launched with a special summer themed party. The pop-up bar will stay open for business until the end of September. When it’s going to be a big success it might stay open for a longer period of time.
The ice cream
Mario will start his concept with three different types of ice cream. Made with two basic flavours, passion fruit and chocolate. The ice cream is finished with several toppings. You can choose between the following types of culinary ice cream:
- A basic ice cream for children.
- Passion fruit with roasted corn, sweet popcorn and crispy jalapeños.
- Chocolate ice cream with brownie, white chocolate marshmallow and basil.
Grand opening
If you cannot wait to taste the ice cream, the opening of the pop-up bar is scheduled at 05:00 pm today! At a big Pool Party you can taste the ice cream for free.
