A touch headstrong, that suits Rolph & Chantal and Rotterdam

The familiar breakfast and lunch dishes of Rolph’s Deli have remained and have been complemented by an accessible dining option under the name Le Petit Restaurant. Starting from 5:30 p.m. onwards, guests can enjoy French bistro cuisine with dishes made from fresh high-quality ingredients. Chef Rolph Hensens: “Here we cook on a different level than in our former restaurant HMB. I call it ‘bistro-plus’ dishes with pure, honest and flavorful ingredients. Our cuisine is sophisticated without being complicated. But also a touch headstrong, because that totally suits us and Rotterdam.”

Modern and classic bistro dishes

On the regularly changing à la carte (evening) menu of Le Petit Restaurant, modern bistro dishes such as ‘raw marinated tuna with sesame and avocado’ and ‘ceviche of hamachi’ are interspersed with more traditional dishes such as salade niçoise, steak tartare, oysters, carpaccio, sirloin steak, sole and poultry with sauerkraut. In addition, bistro classics such as onion soup and boeuf bourguignon are also on the menu.

Wines & cocktails

Chantal and Rolph’s love of fine wines is reflected in their wine list. The list contains mostly European wines, with an emphasis on France and Italy. Vinologist Chantal de Raaf: “Many wines are available by the glass and with the help of the Coravin system we can also offer more expensive wines by the glass. Stubborn as we are, we don’t serve champagne in flûtes, but in coupes. Furthermore, we make a lot of work of cocktails and mocktails, which we offer both during the day and in the evening.”

Open from breakfast to dinner

Rolph’s Deli is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cocktails from 9am to 3:30pm. Le Petit Restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. for dinner.
