Haute Photographie brings together photographers, art lovers, connoisseurs and admirers in the backyard of the most important place in the city when it comes to art, the Rijksmuseum. In the middle of Museumplein, the photography fair is centered around a group exhibition. Works by the grand masters of the history of photography such as Albert Watson, Sante D’Orazio and Jacques Olivar are interspersed with the most exciting new generation of talents who are using photography today to capture their creativity, such as Sara Punt and Campbell Addy, for example. The fringe program includes a book market curated by Artibooks in addition to the pop-up restaurant.
Under the direction of Dennis Huwaë
Haute Photographie also includes haute cuisine. The choice for a pop-up restaurant in collaboration with Daalder led by star chef Dennis Huwaë was quickly made. They understand that their cooking, like photography, is also seen as an art form. In addition, creativity is important. With restaurant Daalder as the pop-up restaurant, guests are guaranteed to be pampered at a high level. Huwaë challenges his team to set the bar especially high; to perform culinary top sport on location during the event.
“It has to be one step better every day. For the people around me, for myself, and for the city. Making beautiful things and putting Amsterdam on the culinary map – that’s what I want. Amsterdam must become the culinary hotspot of the world. If we can be part of that, I would love it.” – says Dennis Huwaë.
Art is served
During Haute Photographie Daalder serves a 3 – or 4-course a la carte lunch menu from 12.00 – 15.30 hours. The lunch menu is composed of an amuse bouche, 3- or 4-courses with or without wine, water and coffee. In the evening there is a six-course chef’s menu on the program, with walk-in from 18.30 to 19.30.
Reservations can be made now at haute-photographie.com/restaurant – be quick as the number of place settings is limited.
About Haute Photographie:
Haute Photographie is an international photography fair with a refreshing take on the fair phenomenon. It is an initiative of Roy Kahmann, director of Kahmann Gallery, publisher of GUP Magazine and one of the leading advocates of photography as an art form in the Netherlands. Haute will take place from September 15 to 18, 2022 on Museumplein. The fair takes a carefully selected exhibition as its starting point, which will provide a fascinating insight into photography as a visual art medium. This main exhibition will be complemented by a focus exhibition for young Dutch photography talent and a book market curated by Artibooks.
About Dennis Huwaë
He may have started his career in the hospitality industry as a teenager at McDonalds, but Dennis Huwaë (1984) largely cooked his culinary career together in two-star restaurants like Ciel Bleu**, Brouwerskolkje** and &Samhoud**. There he developed his signature style in which he draws inspiration from international street food using classic techniques. Out of a desire to always be the best, Huwaë is constantly pushing his own boundaries. As a chef and as an entrepreneur.
