The Grippo cup holder is very easy to use

One side clips onto a garment and the other side of the cup holder clips a plastic cup. This allows any event visitor to easily carry their plastic cup or bottle with them without any bother. The plastic cup or bottle is eventually returned to the bar or a drop-off point by the visitor.

From 2024 on every event in the Netherlands must collect 75% of plastic waste in a clean way, ready for recycling. Grippo has chosen to launch their cup holder as early as January 2023. This will benefit the environment and the enjoyment of visitors at events. This coming festival season, the company plans to use the cup holder at various events to collect hundreds of thousands of plastic cups in a proper clean way so that the plastic can be recycled. With the Grippo cup holder, the company aims to inspire many events and relieve visitors of their plastic waste at a rapid pace.

About Grippo BV

Founders of the company Grippo BV based in Uitgeest, North Holland are Pim van der Eng (former CEO of Bamboo Import Europe) and Glen Kalfsvel, together they started a joint venture with Bas van der Landen, owner of marketing agency Basisidee. Grippo aims to facilitate the reuse of plastic cups at events. Grippo is the first company in the Netherlands to develop a patented cup holder which is reusable and can carry different types of plastic cups and bottles. Visitors attending events often find it annoying to stand with an empty plastic cup in their hands after they finished their drink. Of course, throwing the plastic cup on the ground is not an option. “It’s bad for the environment and nowadays you pay a deposit for a plastic cup at many festivals,” says Glen Kalfsvel.
