Great Scotland Yard hotel | Announced a ‘Grand Unlocking’ this September
The Great Scotland Yard hotel, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is one of London’s top 5* hotels and has announced plans to reopen with a ‘Grand Unlocking’ on Monday 7th September. The hotel is located in Westminster. The re-opening of the hotel will coincide with the launch of a new seasonal snack menu alongside its signature cocktail menu at The 40 Elephants, the destination bar in the heart of the hotel, which will be open to both guests and the public throughout the week.

Based on all-female London crime syndicate called The Forty Elephants, the bar has more than one story to tell through not only the details of interior design, but a creative cocktail list that includes cups served form crystal decanters and cocktails based on the members of the gang with ingredients as intricate and hard to find as the ‘Queens’ themselves.
When the hotel reopens on 7th September, guests will be welcomed with a new experience, which involves giving both guests and visitors greater control of their hotel journey and focuses on a more holistic sense of wellbeing from pre-arrival to checkout and beyond. Each of the spaces in the hotel have been reconfigured in order to strike the correct balance of connection and space.
Collaboration with mediation app Headspace
The hotel team, led by General Manager Sholto Smith will also introduce two additional schemes to enhance guest wellbeing. The first is a new collaboration with mediation app Headspace – which will allow guests to access mindfulness exercises, guided meditations and sleep content via the World of Hyatt app. The second initiative involves introducing greater flexibility for hotel residents for dining and drinks experiences at the hotel. With this in mind, the team plan to align room service menus – to ensure that once fully open, meals from The Yard and cocktails from The 40 Elephants, which guests can enjoy in the comfort of their own rooms.
Additionally, the Great Scotland Yard hotel has confirmed a range of measures will be taken by staff at the property according to the government’s Covid-19 Secure Workplace Guidelines. These include enhanced cleaning of rooms and a special housekeeping team appointed to ensure that both guests and visitors are safe and comfortable in public areas throughout the hotel.
