Sifted 250 recognition for French foodtech startup Clone

Clone‘s inclusion in the Sifted 250 list highlights the company’s strategic value and growth. Clone’s model is recognised as one of the most innovative solutions in the European hospitality sector. ‘This recognition is an important moment for Clone. It shows that our approach not only works, but also has the potential to further transform the hospitality sector,’ said co-founder Alexandre Haggai.

European growth of 80% in 11 months

French foodtech startup Clone has achieved an impressive 80% growth in less than a year. Alexandre Haggai says: ‘With our technology and supply chain approach, we have already helped more than 2500 restaurants generate new revenue streams. By partnering with platforms such as Uber Eats and Thuisbezorgd (Just Eat), local kitchens can benefit from virtual brands without additional investment.’

The €105 million investment, including an €80 million Series B round led by Kharis Capital, Verlinvest and Conviviality Ventures, enables Clone to expand into new markets and accelerate its technological innovations.

Now focusing on the Netherlands | Collaboration with Bidfood

Sam Klopper, Clone Netherlands’ managing director, emphasises the opportunities in the Dutch market. ‘The delivery market has grown strongly here and Clone offers restaurateurs a solution to capitalise on this. With our technology and cooperation with Bidfood, a leading food wholesaler, we can provide restaurants with all the necessary ingredients without additional investments directly,’ Klopper said.

Bidfood’s supply chain integration

The integration of Bidfood’s supply chain with Clone’s technology not only increases restaurant profitability, but also reduces food waste. ‘This is an example of how technology and an efficient supply chain come together to support entrepreneurs in a rapidly changing market,’ Klopper adds. With its innovative technology and European expansion plans, Clone continues to work on new solutions for the fast-growing demand of meal delivery.
