Food truck ‘de Melkbus’

21-3-2016

The Netherlands can add another food truck to its curriculum this Easter. Robert & Wout, real country boys from Eibergen recently made their own food truck, ‘de Melkbus’ (the milk churn). They will sell products made of milk from their own cows.

‘De Melkbus’ is a food truck with, as the name mentions, products made of milk. The ‘de Melkbus’ is special due to its dairy products which are made of the milk from their own cows. Together, the parents of both Robert as Wout have 135 cows. “Our cows are most of the time outside. The cows get all the care and have all the facilities needed to have a good live. We want to show the ins and outs of a farm with our food truck.” Says Wout.

Goal of  ‘de Melkbus’

With the products that are sold, Robert & Wout want to show the diversity of milk, the possibilities with milk are very diverse. They hope to sell dairy products from their food truck that are directly consumable throughout the whole country. “The final goal is to show people the possibilities with milk, without losing the product in the mass of big dairy producers.” The products are adjusted to the seasons. In Summer you can get a surprising yogurt combination or a milk smoothie. This milk is unique since it isn’t processed in a large dairies, this saves the rich flavour of the pure milk. The dairy products  which the boys are selling from the food truck aren’t expensive, most products are between € 3,= and € 6,=.
