The Fish and Season festival 2014
The Fish and Season festival is a 3-day culinary festival dedicated to sustainable and delicious fish. The festival takes place in the market hall of the Food Centre in Amsterdam that will be transformed into a Valhalla for fish-lovers, with a large kitchen for demonstrations and a foodcourt. Guests of the festival can see demonstrations of several top-chefs, enjoy great dishes and be inspired by the newest innovations in fish-preparing methods.
The festival starts Thursday 2 October with a 5-star VIP night, where guests are served an all-inclusive 6-course meal. Friday 3 October and Saturday 4 October reputable chefs give several demonstrations of preparing culinary snacks. Guest are able to try small dishes at the foodcourt as well.
Fishmonger Jan van As is initiator of the festival. After winning the DAM price (most sustainable company of Amsterdam) last year, Jan van As decided to organize the Fish and Season festival with the price money. The revenue of the festival will be donated to the food bank of Amsterdam.
