Deus Night Market | Deus Cantina’s new ‘foodhall fest’
Deus Cantina in Amsterdam has lined up a calendar full of new events for the winter months: cozy Speakeasy Sundays, indoor ‘Night Markets’ and the Deus Café. Saturday 12 November, the first edition of the Deus Night Market will take place; a ‘foodhall fest’ highlighting creators of international and local products. “Food, drinks, great stories and ‘people just being supersonic”, says Neil Roake, creative chef at Deus Cantina. “The days are getting shorter, and the need to socialize, laugh and celebrate life greater. Deus Cantina is that place where all that comes together this autumn”.

Makers of international and local products in the spotlight at Deus Night Market
Walk through the Deus Night Market and you will take a trip around the world: from Greece and the USA to South Africa, Korea and Amsterdam. The event follows the success of the first food event that rocked Deus Cantina earlier this year: the Shit Hot Fest, which brought together 400 visitors and the best international hot sauce makers. Also during the five weekly Speakeasy Sundays – where jazz musicians from the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music take the stage – it’s all about being together, aperitivos, music and, above all, ‘fun’.
Amsterdam Biltong and Swedish canned wine
The first Deus Night Market – the ‘pumpkin edition’ on November 12 – is also all about ‘food & fun’: from dumplings to Disco Fries. Lovers will get their fill at the oyster bar, or with homemade empanadas and Deus burgers, mussel casseroles with feta and ouzo, Amsterdam Biltong and charcuterie. But Night Market also has plenty in store for vega and vegan ‘world travelers’.
“Swedish canned wine or a tasting of 3 orange wines with a piece of award-winning coffee cheese? At the Deus Night Market, we want to introduce visitors to new flavours, special products and, above all, the creators,” Neil says. “Here you will taste the brand new LALA Tequila reposado in an Espresso Martini, the special Dutch Clusius Tulip Vodka made from tulip bulbs, and we will pour Hard Kombucha and Coffee Kombucha for those who prefer 0%. It will be a food fest where everyone feels at home and can be surprised.”
Deus Art exhibition
“But ‘having fun’ is more than just food and drinks,” says Roake. “So during the Deus Night Market, you will also find an Art Exhibit featuring the globally acclaimed Deus Art – both unique photo prints and posters, both available in limited editions – and there will be old school vinyl spinning by DJ Finn Peters. Ain’t we got fun.”
