Current Rooftop Restaurant & Bar in Den Bosch | Urban appeal
Current Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is for anyone looking for excitement, conviviality, great food, a delicious cocktail or an unbeatable view of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The intimate bar offers guests a wide range of champagnes and a number of bar bites. Don’t expect the obvious, but a sexy bar where everyone can be themselves. The modern interior includes lots of gold, purple and velvet, plants and a beautiful leather-clad bar as center piece. From the bar, guests have access to a roof terrace where the use of rust-colored, eroded steel (corten steel) creates an urban look, for example in the two fountains that bring the roof terrace to life. The corten steel is a nod to Current Rooftop’s location, namely at the beginning of the Paleisbrug (Palace Bridge), designed by garden architect Piet Oudolf. This Dutch designer loves working with corten steel and is also responsible for the famous park bridge High Line in New York.

Next to the bar, guests can enjoy the restaurant with bar and a large roof terrace on both sides. Inside, you’ll find lots of brass and black and white accents. The whole thing has a modern feel to it; a bit Paris chic meets Berlin bold. Various bar bites are served at the bar and in the restaurant guests can choose from an extensive menu created by Head Chef Erwin Oudijk. Erwin was previously co-responsible as Head Chef for the kitchen of Michelin-starred restaurant Wils in Amsterdam and wants to provide the same level of service at Current Rooftop. The chef discovered his passion for cooking on an open fire in Australia and brings this with him to Current. Consequently, many dishes are prepared on an open fire and smoke, wood and charcoal are frequently featured in the dishes. Although Current Rooftop Restaurant & Bar has a cosmopolitan feel, reminiscent of sexy rooftop bars in world cities like New York and London, many products are sourced from local suppliers who use with the seasonal products.
