The Cheetah Generation is a group of new generation leaders around the world. They create innovative ideas for new sustainable ways. NCDO organises “Battle of the Cheetahs” (Netherlands) a competition for five teams (60 young proffesionals) to find solutions for fair and sustainable food. Coaches from business, science and NGO will guide the groups to develop ideas within six weeks.
Rwandan Inyenyeri designed the Wonderbag that holds the heat and reduces gas consumption. A meal has to be heated and then you place it in the Wonderbag. The insulation holds the heat that was achieved by heating the meal to prepare the meal. The device is popular in South Africa.

The Growler Station (NYC) allows customers to tap craft beer straight from the tap. In their shop in Greenwich Village, NY, customers can choose of several kinds of beer. Through a tv screen and several iPads, customers can request information about the beer. The Growler Station is planning to open stores in South Carolina, Georgia, Washington DC, Northern NY and Michigan.
Reservation website Couvert.nl launched on February 8th an app that allows consumers to make free reservations in restaurants in the Netherlands 24 hours per day. Also, the current menu information of these restaurant, pricing, interior photos and a video impression data are given. The Couverts app is available for iPhone, Android and later this week BlackBerry.
Joseph Company International is planning to launch, end March/begin April in the US, a self-cooling soda can. On the bottom of the Chill Can a button is located, once you press the button the can cools off. The can remains cool 30 minutes longer than a normal can does. Earlier we wrote about the Hot Booster, a selfheating soup.
Mastercard, Hoyts (cinema) and the Commonwealth Bank in Australia designed in cooperation the QkR app. With this app people can order food from their seats in Hoyts. Watch the video to see how it works!
Heineken released the App “Serenade your date” on their Facebook site. This app helps people to ask their Valentine out in an original way by selecting your Valentine profile or number and say what you want to do with your Valentine and why he/she should go with you. The app turns into a promotional musical serenade that will be posted on the Wall of your Valentine. At the end of the movie the person can click on yes or no.
British design studio Black+Blum designed a bottle that filters tap water, Eau Good. The design is based on an old Japanese filter system with the help of carbon filters. These filters reduce chlorine and chemicals and add minerals to the water to keep the pH balanced. The active carbon filter lasts up to 6 months.
