MyFarm is an initiative of the UK National Trust where it is all about crowdmanagement. The farm of Wimpole Estate in Cambrigdeshire, which containts over 2.500 acres of land, is calling for 10,000 ‘online farmers’ to participate to sign up for £30 and provide this farmer with advise and to discuss other issues through blogs and videos. The online farmers don’t need any previous farmer experiences. Points of discussion will be; crops being grown, livestock being bred and general wider issues regarding the farm’s interaction with the environment.
The Acadia Tree Tower is a new solution for overpopulation. The building itself resembles of a birds nest and is designed by Petr Pospisil. The tree pilars that support the building are filled with office spaces and elevators. The Nest is used for condo’s, shopping malls and entertainement facilities. Energy and drinking water are gained from nature by solar panels and harvesting rainwater.
City planners in Abu Dhabi are developing Masdar to be an urban zone with sharp ecological goals, as it relies completely on solar and renewable energy. The city is designed by Foster & Partners.
This elegant 1limit faucet encourages water conservation by giving you less water to use. Even better, the faucet forces you to do it! The design relies on the simple principle of ‘what you see is what you get’. The faucet fills the attached glass tube with exactly one liter of water for washing hands, it needs to be turned off again before it refills. The brainchild of designers Yonggu Do, Dohyung Kim and Sewon Oh is a clever bit of stingy design.

Limburgs Land Ur-Weizen. A carbon neutral ecological beer! This beer is an addition to the existing ecological climate-neutral products of the ‘Limburgs Land’ line from Gulpener. This Weizen beer is brewed exclusively with organic wheat, barley, hops and pure water from their natural sources. The raw materials are, just like the other beers of Gulpener, cultivated by farmers in Limburg (The Netherlands).

The Grow Bottles are hand-crafted from recycled wine bottles, they combine smart design and functionality with a clean aesthetic that is respectful of the earth’s resources. Using simple hydroponics, these durable glass vases grow fresh culinary herbs indoors year-round.
