‘Tosti Madness’ makes gourmet sandwiches. With the ‘Tosti Madness’ caravan and grill they visit festivals to serve the visitors fresh sandwiches made from organic and/or local products. They will also create a ‘Tosti Madness special’ with seasonal/region-specific products on request. They are always looking for new ways to prepare the sandwiches, such with a grill or on fire. ‘Tosti Madness’ also provides sandwiches to the hospitality business (mainly pubs) and provides catering. Last year they won the award for the best food truck concept during ‘Proefpark Haarlem’.

A tent at a festival or celebration for wine lovers. Register Viticulturist and Sommelier Barbara Verbeek is the creator of this concept together with Barend Havenaar of Champagnebar.nl. They want to put all your senses to work in their wine theater. Barbara completed the wine academy for viticulturist in 2001. She got her title sommelier and wine and foodpairing expert in 2002 and recently became a Registered Viticulturist. She runs the wine theater events and celebrations at events like Manifesto, Valtifest and “A Day at the Park ‘.
Champagne vending machine

To approach the shoppers in the British department store Selfridges in London, Moët & Chandon sells mini champagne bottles in a vending machine. The champagne vending machine is located at the Christmas section at the department store. The 200ml bottles cost $29,- and are packed in a gold with crystal packaging. Moët & Chandon wants to make the luxury drink more accessible to a broader audience.

Lidl pop-up restaurant at Michelin-star level

Restaurant Dill opened on September 13 in Stockholm. London-based chef Michael Wignall** made the menu and organized the kitchen. A 9-course menu was prized at an astonishing € 55,-, and the restaurant was fully booked from day one on. Too good to be true? Yes it was! It appeared to be a marketing stunt for Lidl. Only four ingredients (including liquid nitrogen) that were used for the preparation of the courses weren’t part of the supermarkets assortment.
National Geographic augmented reality

National Geograpic celebrates its birthday in the coming months. To promote this, an exhibition of 36 premium photographs will travel to several train stations in the Netherlands until February. A giant virtual reality show is set-up to promote the exhibition. Passers-by can see and photograph themselves with a rhino, astronaut and dinosaurs. See the video for an impression. The exhibition travels to Eindhoven (December), The Hague Central station (January) and Arnhem (February).
Exclusive gastro-marathon in 24 hours for a charity

An exclusive gastro-marathon specially for 3FM Serious Request (Dutch radio station). From December 22 to December 23 Restaurant EVI in the Netherlands will be the culinary center for 24 hours. Three Dutch top chefs will prepare three dishes per hour meaning that they will serve a total of nine top dishes with at least tree Michelin stars. There will be a long table in the restaurant with 30 chairs. The seats are available per session of three hours, so there are only 240 seats available. The total proceeds will go to the charity of 3FM Serious Request, the Red Cross. Amongst the Chefs that will cook during the 24 hours are Niven Kunz, Ron Blaauw, Menno Post, Maik Kuipers and Edwin Vinke. The seats are auctioned from 18 December via Dutch auction website vakantieveilingen.nl.
Hertog Jan *** as pop-up bistro Yellow

Joachim Boudens and Gert De Mangeleer from Hertog Jan *** in Sint Michiels (Brugge) renovate the Michelin star restaurant to a modern bistro from February to June 2014. The original Hertog Jan restaurant moves to a protected farmhouse in Zedelgem. They are so eager to keep on cooking that they’re opening a pop-up restaurant ‘Yellow’ in the center of Bruges.
Europe is just next door

A year after the ‘Take a look at Brussels‘ campaign, SNCF launches the ‘Europe is just next door’-campaign. Bystanders could virtually step into another city through a digital door. From Milan they were entertained by a mime artist, in Brussels a drawer made a portrait, in Barcelona a hip-hop crew was present to dance with, from Geneva you were joined by a couple in a boat and in Stuttgart you virtually rode a bike with a few locals. Take a nap at pop-up hotel

A power nap can help to reduce stress and increase productivity. At the Royal Bank Plaza in Toronto Breathe Right, make of nasal strips to breathe better, set up a pop-up pod hotel. Working people were invited to take a free nap for 20 minutes and were asked to test the nasal strips. People could reserve a ‘room’ via an app on the Facebook page and there were a few beds available for passersby.
