The 24th of November the 20th Century Fox movie Murder On The Orient Express premiered in Finland. On December 13, six people will board the train of rail operator VR to travel from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. The first ‘KitKat Chocolatery’ in the Netherlands has opened on the 30th of November at Utrecht Central Station. In the pop-up store you can make your own KitKat bar, or as their slogan says ‘Create your own break’, until December 23rd. There are a number of KitKat Chocolatery stores in Japan, England, Malaysia and Australia.
Okay, you say cheese tea? You really mean cheese and tea in the same cup? Yes, tea topped with cheese! Spotted and originated in Guangzhou, the capital of China’s southern Guangdong province at HEYTEA tea house. The concept has spread from the street stalls of Taiwan to China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and even to New York’s Flushing neighborhood, where Happy Lemon serves the tea in four flavors, including chocolate. Hotels, cafés, bars and restaurants with a specific theme, we do spot it more often. Whether it’s a pop-up concept or a permanent location, it’s always fun to see the weird themed bars created by entrepreneurs. A popular theme for a bar nowadays are inspired on TV shows, sitcoms or series, for example recently we wrote about bars named after series like ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Game of Thrones’. We created a list of 10 themed bars inspired by TV shows.
One of the unique characteristics of ice cream is the fact that it combines very well with several products. In May we already published a bucket list with ice cream parlours but in the meanwhile we already posted 10 more stories about ice cream. A new list thus with amongst others one of the first ice cream parlours in the Netherlands that sells rolled ice cream, a parlour where DIY soft serve ice cream is being served and a cotton candy burrito with ice cream but also ice cream with alcohol like gin tonic or with beer. It’s summer, which means that the magic warehouse of city brewery Stadsbrouwerij ‘De Koninck’ in Antwerp has been transformed into a temporary summer bar. After Summer Josephine’s and Smokey Jo’s Garage, the brewery’s interior garden will house Smokey Jo’s Cantina this year. The ultimate place to relax in the city.
