The Egloo, a cool little heater that uses a simple concept which heats the room for just a couple of cents a day – without the use of electricity. Last month we wrote about the newest and biggest indoor park in the world which opened on the 31st of August in Dubai. Nowadays we have so many developments, it could happen that ‘elderly’ amusements park are overlooked. Recently we came up with Salina Turda, an amusements park opened in 1992 located in a historical salt mine in Romania. One of the oldest saltmines in the world includes a small amphitheatre, bowling courts, boats and even a ferris-wheel. lees verder

Imagine you don’t have to get out of bed to change temperature in the room, or find a light switch in the middle of the night. With Aloft’s new voice-activated system you just have to give Siri the message to switch on the lights, control the air conditioning, put on some music, turn the television on or off etc. They call it ‘Project Jetson’ and it’s an app that runs on an iPad that controls the room using Apple’s Homekit and Siri.
Airbnb announced its innovation lab called Samara, whose first project is a novel community centre. The first community centre will be located in the city Yoshino in Japan. The first building can be seen at the House Vision exhibition in Tokyo this summer, and will be relocated to Yoshino to open in October. We wonder when we will be able to visit these kinds of community centres and community Airbnb’s in other countries. lees verder
Over the years chefs have distinguished themselves with the presentation of their dishes at the most beautiful plates and in cups. We’ve seen the craziest and most creative plates pass by. Now in addition to the creative set of plates, we will also be able to choose from the unique collection of cutlery of the ‘Steinbeisser Collection’. This unique cutlery is developed by 35 different International artists. It took them 4 years to design and develop this collection. lees verder

To change this two Americans introduced the Modbar, one of the most advanced coffee systems in the world. With success because next to a lot of coffee shops in the USA and the UK we spotted the Modbar also in the Netherlands. First at coffee bar deli Roekoekoe, FG Restaurant in Rotterdam recently was the first restaurant with the Modbar. lees verder
Another reason to go see a movie in the cinema! Lot of chances in the last couple of years in the movie and cinema world. The public started to enjoy watching movies at home but with these developments they successfully lure the public back in the cinema! With the IMAX screens, 3D movies, virtual reality and now Barco Escape movies, the cinema offers a whole new movie experience. No ‘normal’ cinema from a single screen, with Barco Escape you will be drawn in the story. This due to two additional screens that are attached at the main screen in an angle of circa 140 degrees, a panoramic view.
From today on FG restaurant (Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 2 Michelin Stars) will be situated at a new location. François Geurds will serve the best dishes in the restaurant, which is located next to FG Food Labs. We were invited to check this new place out and can only indicate that their future guests will be in for an even greater culinary surprise than at the last location! We wish François and his team the best of luck and a lot of fun at the new location and with their path to the top of gastronomy, the third Michelin Star. lees verder
