This week, amongst others about the new Abba restaurant in London, Mamma Mia! The Party and Starbucks introduced a new drink ‘the Cordusio’ in honour of the opening of Starbucks Reserve Rostary Milan at plaza Cordusio! And a link to a video in which the Subway CEO offers a peek into the future of their stores, also a link to an amusing article with the title: sobbing in the Starbucks. And a link to the New York Oyster Week from 13 September till the 29th, with a Dutch touch!
Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof & restaurant LOF in Ghent | Open after renovation

Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof, situated at the Hoogstraat in Ghent, will open its doors on the 6th of October. The Louis XIV style townhouse hotel with 157 rooms, bars, an extensive living room, salons (for both business and private meetings) and a spa was completely renovated into a boutique hotel. Modest luxury with soft colors and rich natural materials will determine the atmosphere. Not only the hotel was renovated, the well-known LOF Restaurant has also been completely renewed. Unique is that the restaurant gets the signature of Ron Blaauw – one of the most well-known star chefs in the Netherlands. Blaauw will translate his successful Ron Gastrobar concept for LOF.

Fairmont Loves Film Event Series launched with Gia Coppola as film ambassador and retrospective photographic exhibits in Toronto, London and Shanghai. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts introduced the Fairmont Loves Film event series, comprised of pop-up events and a retrospective photo exhibit officially premiering at Fairmont Royal York during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF, from September 6 – September 16 2018) and later traveling to London and Shanghai. Next to that they entered a partnership with film director and screenwriter Gia Coppola in the new role of Film Ambassador and Curator for Fairmont Loves Film. To celebrate this exciting program, Fairmont has also partnered with TIFF as the Official Gala Program Sponsor throughout the duration of the world-renowned festival.

This week, amongst others 2 articles about the digital developments in the coffee world in China where speed and efficiency play an increasingly important role. Also a nice idea for ice cream parlours, an ice cream sample platter with all flavours in the display! In addition, we received the message that Bird Brewery from Amsterdam scored 5 times gold at the World Beer Awards 2018, in the article a list of the winning beers! Also a link to a new restaurant in Amsterdam to put on your list to visit if you’re a foodie and if you are going to Brussels, check out the recently opened food market, Food District.

With the subtropical courtyard, the Café Jakarta restaurant and the Malabar sky bar, Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam takes guests on a journey of discovery where the East and the West merge. An inspiring location where sleeping, eating, drinking, working and relaxation can be found and a meeting place for hotel guests, local residents and Amsterdammers. We already wrote about the announcement of the construction of hotel Jakarta Amsterdam by Westcord Hotels and now that the hotel is finished, we like to show the result in photos.

This week, amongst others about the Amsterdam Terraces Festival at the end of August in the Rembrandtpark during which the finish of the summer is celebrated. Starbucks joins forces with a cryptocurrency venture so that the Bitcoin could break through as regular currency. Next weekend the GinFever festival will be held in Schiedam and the Dutch coffee concept Kaldi opens its first branch in Denmark. Chiringuito has opened in a former public toilet in London (and it looks great!) and in Paris you can enjoy ‘Ducasse sur Seine’ as from September 4th.

Cookaholics is going to juggle culinary at Festival Circolo | Bistro Food Jugglers

Cookaholics, a caterer in the Tilburg region in the Netherlands and Festival Circolo have signed a collaboration agreement on 14 August 2018. The goal of the collaboration is to make Festival Circolo an unforgettable experience in both cultural and culinary terms. The kitchen arena of Festival Circolo, the festival for contemporary circus, is staffed by Cookaholics, famous in Tilburg and cities nearby. Cookaholics will be cooking at Bistro Food Jugglers. Festival Circolo takes place from Friday 12 to Sunday 21 October in the Leijpark in Tilburg.
