New destination for old Shell Tower

In the spring of 2012, Amsterdam started a pitch to develop a new destination for the unused Overhoeks tower in Amsterdam, the old Shell building. Last October the 4th, club owner Sander Groet (Club AIR, Amsterdam) is announced to winner to create the new destination. The plan shows us the new destination of several headquarters, but as well several restaurants, clubs and a hotel.

Blown Away classical and electronic music @ warehouse 010

On Saturday the 13th of October the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, techno producer Secret Cinema and Ted Langenbach join forces during the Advanced Music Fest Blown Away. At about 100 musicians and another 100 performers will combine classical and electonic music in the Rotterdam harbor area during an explosive creative and visually attractive evening.

Hampshire Hospitality goes green

Hampshire Hospitality started, in association with ‘Natuurmonumenten’, a Facebook-campaign. When they collected 5.000 likes, they will plant 200 trees on November 23, during the Hampshire Tree planting Day.

Burgundian Breda

For the second time, Breda will be the hosting city of the event Burgundian Breda, which will be held in the Grote Kerk (a church) in Breda. Surprising dishes will be served by companies and top-restaurants. This convention is especially focused on business people, but consumers are welcome as well.

Flanders for Foodies

With Flanders for Foodies are 39 young chefs promoting the gastronomy of Flanders. If you are between 18 and 30 years old, you can enjoy a dinner of one of the chefs, between the 1st of October and November 15. This campaign is set up to attract the foodie to Flanders.

Urban farming at Hoog Catharijne

Corio and Biet & Boon are working together to develop a pop-up roof garden project on shopping mall Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht. The harvest goes to local restaurants, offices and volunteers. Earlier this year the largest roof garden opened in Amsterdam.

Sauna day for breast cancer patients

Newly opened wellness center ‘Sauna Swoll’ initiated the first wellness day for breast cancer patients together with after care center ‘Intermezzo’. Breast cancer often leads to breast amputation and can be a reason for patients to avoid wellness centers. The wellness center is open on 23rd of September from 11.00 to 21.00 o’clock.

Open High Street local delivery website

Unilever is testing with a home delivery service for local groceries in Hereford. The ‘Open High Street’ website is mainly focused on food & drinks, but delivers products from a neighboring post office as well. The shops can join for 10 pence per delivery, customers pay 5 pound per order.

The first Urban Food Week in London

This September (10-16), London will feast on the fabulous local produce being grown, produced and cooked on its doorstep, with the capital city’s first Urban Food Week . The week of activities is being organised to highlight the importance of buying and eating local food, urban growing and planting forage for bees. During the week, restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs across the city will be showcasing dishes and drinks made with ultra-local fruit, veg and herbs from urban farms, and from London honey cultivated in community beehives.
