Nescafé has opened a pop-up coffee shop in Toronto, where everyone has to bring and make their own coffee. Indeed, you have to bring your own coffee otherwise you will not be able to enter the Coffee Taproom. The pop-up is a stunt by Nescafé and designed to promote the Nescafé Sweet & Creamy coffee sticks. The ad for pop-up Coffee Taproom trolls Starbucks!
The Cone Masters | Coffee in a cone now available in Amsterdam

Last year September we wrote about the Instagram hashtag #coffeeinacone. The idea to serve coffee in a cone comes from South Africa. In January 2016 Dayne Levinrad uploaded his first photo with this hashtag. It is now possible to drink a coffee in a cone at pop-up store The Cone Masters located at Vijzelgracht 41 in Amsterdam. Until the 18th of June you can enjoy this coffee in a cone with chocolate.

Last King’s Day I was in Eindhoven and in advance I received an email with a tip about a recently opened food market in Eindhoven: Down Town Gourmet Market. Although we already had a reservation for another restaurant, we couldn’t resist to have a quick look at this new market. It seemed that everybody was enjoying themselves as it was quite busy!
Jarheads | Healthy lunch in glass jars

The motto of the Jarheads catering company from Mechelen in Belgium: ‘slow food, swiftly delivered’. They deliver healthy, organic meals in glass jars with recyclable cutlery. They started as a catering company but last summer they also opened a take-away / restaurant at the Lambermontplaats in Antwerp, where you can take away your jar or eat it.
Restaurant Tante Kee | Reopened after a three months renovation

On the 1st of April, Restaurant Tante Kee (aunt Kee) at the Kaag Island in the West of the Netherlands reopened after a three months renovation. Restaurant owners Kim Edwards and Raymond Reeb renewed the restaurant, the terrace, the logo and corporate identity completely. The New chef Bobby Rust and Raymond Reeb have already composed their first menu together. During the renovation social media platforms were used to keep all their guests and those interested informed about new developments.

The Cheese Bar in Camden, London celebrates and promotes the best of British cheese by making irresistible grilled cheese sandwiches. After a successful crowdfunding campaign (reaching the funding target of £130,000 in 5 days), Mathew Carver has opened his first permanent restaurant located in the historic Camden Market on the 23rd of March. Mathew has been selling his sandwiches from The Cheese Truck (a converted 1970’s ice cream van) named ‘Alfie’ since 2014. From foodtruck to a real restaurant.

Spring 2017 the new hospitality concept Hofhouse, located next to the central station of The Hague, will open its doors. Hofhouse is situated on the ground floor of the new flexible government office Rijnstraat 8, during the year several government departments will move to this location. The architecture and interior of this sensational building is designed by the renowned architects of OMA by Rem Koolhaas. Hofhouse is inspired by a veranda and will be the hospitality lobby of The Hague. The exploitation of Hofhouse is managed by ISS Facility Service. The project has been guided by our colleagues of Van Spronsen & Partners hospitality consultants, they are responsible for the concept and the recruitment of the hospitality entrepreneurs.
