Swedish student Lena Louise Meyer designed a table on which vegetables grow. The Sprout Table combines traditional craft with a modern design, is eco-friendly and brings enviromental growth in your house.

From 7- 11 February the HEL YES! event took place in Stockholm. The event was a combination of gastronomy, design and dance. The organisators of the event are restaurateur Antto Melasniemi, designer Mia Wallenius and artist Klaus Haapaniemi. Visionary Antto Melasniemi, whose food restaurants have the position of the most interesting in Helsinki, created vega and vegetarian menus that were sold at the event. The HEL YES! events were organized in London and Helsinki before.
The first macaron shop of the Netherlands opens it’s doors in Amsterdam, on the day of the macaron (Jour du Macaron) on March 20th . Poptas Pastry make their macarons based on a French recipe in their own pastry kitchen??. Besides selling macarons, they also give macaron workshops.
Stable Table is a table that automatically adjust the table legs to the surface. The mechanical system inside the pillar is connected to the table legs. No wobbling tables anymore! Nice for in a restaurant. The table is nominated for the Innovation Award during Hotelympia February 26th- March 1st in London.
The Swedish-American company Plantagon placed its first shovel into the ground in Linkoping (Sweden). A few years ago they already had plans to post greenhouses in large cities. Watch the video.
Penquin Hug neck bands is a collar that works cooling through the basis of evaporative cooling from micro-crystals. The collars are environmentally friendly and reusable.
Plant Design Studio designed shower gels that influences your mood by using specific ingredients. They designed the ‘Get Happy’ gel, ‘Wake-up’ gel, ‘Calm-down’ gel and ‘Be-my baby’ gel. A nice idea for a hotel?
Vrumona (producer of soda drinks) surprised “Prins Fris” (temporary mayor during Carnival festivities) with hundreds of bottles of soda. According to Vrumona the Prince finds soda tastier than beer. They also want to make clear that Carnival can be celebrated alcohol free. At least the soda will be a welcome addition to a Carnival diet.
At the Stockholm Furniture Fair the Share Portable Park Chair was presented by designstudio Thomas Bernstrand’s (Stockholm). It is a combination between a public bench and a shopping cart. Like a shopping cart, there must be a coin ins to get a chair released from the chain.
Design Studio Cunicode completed the experiment One Cup a Day. A month (1 cup per day) long they designed creative cups that are for sale. The 30 designs can be placed in 3 categories: funny cups, useless cups (but interesting) and cups by texture. Watch the video to see one of the cups (the Octo Cup).
