Opening – A wonderful evening out in a contemporary Japanese restaurant where you can choose from classics and new creations from a well-known chef. As from October residents of Zeist in the Netherlands can visit the new urban sushi restaurant Sushi San. The place is uniquely decorated with a combination of modern design and traditional Japanese elements such as large wooden columns, rice paper lamps and drawings of koi carp. Both small and large groups will soon enjoy an exclusive all you can dine concept here.

This Japanese hotspot in Zeist will also work with robots that will support their staff. The fact that the robots are really not going to replace the employees is apparent from the advertisement on their website in which they are looking for employees. We are curious about the robots!

Opening in Antwerp – With MOOY Bakery, the popular pink lunch spot ‘MOOY Food & Drinks’ is introducing a completely new concept across the street from the current store. Here they serve milkshakes, cupcakes, cake slices and fancy sweet & savory toasts! All sweet tooths can gather here! Owner Yana Lamon starts with one establishment, with the aim of being able to expand it later or even develop it as a franchise concept. The stairway to sweet treat heaven? You can climb it from this summer at the Lombardenvest 33 in Antwerp.

Looking at the images, the concept reminds us a bit of the very popular and Instagrammable EL&N cafes in London. And if MOOY Bakery will be as busy as this chain is in London, it can expand quickly! Nice to visit if you go shopping with friends in Antwerp. The cake slices look deliciously sweet!

Tavolino’s summer terrace with ITALICUS | Capri by the river in London

20-7-2021

  • ITALICUS served at the summer terrace of Tavolino
  • Cocktail met ITALICUS - summer terrace of Tavolino

This Thursday 22nd July, Tavolino, the Italian restaurant in the heart of London Bridge, will launch their summer terrace in partnership with award-winning modern Italian Aperitivo ITALICUS. The 100-seater terrace will be transformed into Capri by the river, with dishes and drinks inspired by the Italian coast.

Another example for a partnership to create a summer terrace, we spotted a couple of those summer terraces in London and Amsterdam as well, like pop-up Piazza by the Pier and café Bloesem! We wonder when we will see cocktails with this aperitivo ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto at the terraces in the Netherlands. You can serve ITALICUS as a Spritz or a Negroni Bianco, or create your own cocktail with it. You have to visit the summer terrace Tavolino in London to try the The Alba Chiara blends ITALICUS cocktail or The Dolce Nuvola, sounds delicious to match their Amalfi lemon meringue!

  • THE NEST POP UPS - view dinner at the Boathouse

This summer, Luke Wasserman, Toby Neill and Johnnie Crowe, the team behind popular Hackney restaurant NEST and the recently opened restaurant FENN in Fulham, will celebrate seasonal British dining by launching a summer series of pop-up restaurants in rural locations across the UK.

Great idea for city restaurants? A paid team building in another surrounding? Might work for other restaurants as well and it’s great inspiration to work with local produce, who knows what you might take back to your menu in the city. We have seen a lot of initiatives of chefs working together to create food festivals, trading places or joining a team of chefs cooking in each other’s restaurants (The Grand Gelinaz Shuffle), but in this case the whole teams goes on an adventure in the summer. Inspiration for their guests to get to know the restaurant and for the team to have fun and get to know more about the local produce!
