March 15, the first e-dining restaurant in the Netherlands opened its doors in Rotterdam. The restaurant, named Izkaya, will serve dishes from various Asian cuisines. In the restaurant you don’t order your food at the waiters but via the touch panel in the table. Using the table you can browse through the different dishes and order food and drinks. You can also change the “tablecloth”, take a look in the kitchen through a webcam, play games and view and ask for the check.
To prevent theft by hotel guests, RFID Chips are placed in someIn certain linen and towels are chipped with RFID chips placed. The chip will be implemented by Womitex, a Dutch supplier of horeca linen.
With the new Vegman iPhone app you can search for vegetarian restaurants. Both the app as the community website are still under construction. At the moment there are over 1.100 restaurants in the database, 50 of those are in the Netherlands.
