A nice example of twitter for restaurants. Ryan Sutton, the NYC food critic for Bloomberg news, posted a photo from a small part of the menu of restaurant The Dutch in NY. As far as we could find The Dutch aren’t present on twitter so perhaps they find out that their dish, foie gras hot dog, is used as inspiration via Horecatrends ;-).
Rubies in the Rubble, number 26 in the list of the Observer newspaper’s “New Radicals” series, makes delicious chutney out of discarded fruits and vegetables found at wholesale markets. Watch the video for more information!

Baked Alaska is a layered dessert consisting of cake, ice cream and sweet meringue. To make the blue-flame, turn down the lights and sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of warm brandy over each meringue-coated cupcake. Ignite with a grill lighter or a long fireplace match.
The Crescent Moon Tower is a design project by Transparence House and is submitted to the 11th Thyssenkrup Elevator Architecture Award. This building design symbolizes Dubai as part of the islamic world and shows the technology and economic development in Dubai. The building accommodates a childrens library, a conference facility, a restaurant, multiple cafés and an open air observation platform. If the design will be build, it is said to be completed in 2015 along with it’s sister project the “Full Moon Hotel”, resembling the Death Star form Star Wars.
A new purple strawberry ‘Purple Wonder’ was unveiled by the W. Atlee Burpee Company this week at the Philadelphia International Flower Show. The strawberry was actually bred by horticulturists at Cornell University but Burpee will have exclusive rights to market the plant to home gardeners.

To celebrate this success they brewed a special triple beer together with The Fontein brewery. The result is a strong lager with 7,5% alcohol.
