On the 24th of March it will be the National Pancake Day in the Netherlands. On this day, elementary school students throughout the country will be baking pancakes for elderly in their neighbourhood. One of the first underwater restaurant where you actually have to dive to. So if you enjoy dining out and love to dive, The Pearl in dive center Nemo33 in Brussels is where you have to be. We have seen a couple of underwater restaurant and hotel locations but somehow this made us think of the ‘Genussgondel in the ski area Serfaus, Fiss, Ladis’. Back in 2009 we wrote about their smallest restaurant in the world in a gondola. Well The Pearl has the same capacity.

wastED | New York’s waste concept comes to Selfridges London

The pop-up restaurant wastED of Dan, David and Laureen Barber and the team behind New York’s internationally known Blue Hill restaurants will pop-up in London at the rooftop restaurant of Selfridges. This pop-up will run from February the 24th to April the 2nd, serving menus designed to raise awareness of food waste. They will convert food waste into £15 ($18) sharing dishes and a ‘not so customary’ £32 high tea. Expect quirky dishes with skin and bones and other ingredients you normally wouldn’t expect.

Who doesn’t have this childhood memory? Sneaking a few spoonful’s of raw dough when your mom or grandmother was baking cookies. Remember sneaking too much until you were sick? Nowadays you can buy ‘raw cookie dough’ in the supermarket in America and this week a ‘ready-and-safe-to-eat raw cookie dough’ restaurant will open in Greenwich Village in New York. According to owner Kirsten Tomlan a place where you can enjoy ‘raw cookie dough’ mixed with ‘normal cookies’ and many more ingredients. Please be aware of this lesson from grandmothers: “don’t let your eyes be bigger than your stomach otherwise you will be nauseous!”
Pop-up IGLOOS | On which rooftop terrace in the Netherlands next winter?

In London it’s possible to diner in pop-up igloo’s until the end of the winter at the Coppa Club. The pop-up structures host smaller groups (up to 8 people at a time) and are fully-heated. To make it even more comfortable for the guests, there are sheepskin blankets and speakers in the IGLOOS. Which rooftop terrace in the Netherlands will install these kind of igloo’s next winter?
