“Tea-time”, designer Pengtao Yu created a simple but yet convinient set combining tea leaves, water and steeping time. You put tea leafs and hot water into the first part of “Tea-time”, twist the timer to set the steeping time and the tea slowly trickles down to the bottom beaker. The timer/filter hold back the leaves and your cup is ready to sip.

Çurface is a new company that makes furniture out of recycled plastic cups and coffee grounds. The material they’ve come up with is a high impact polystyrene composite board that is malleable when heated. The surface of the material has the faceted look of crystal but is smooth in texture and reminiscent of chocolate, leather and stone.
ING Direct in Italy discovered that positive testimonials from current ING customers were responsible for bringing many new customers into the bank. In order to highlight how word of mouth referrals were driving the bank’s business, Leo Burnett Milan decided to create a series of live executions featuring real customers framed against bank billboards. Thus giving potential customers on the street the opportunity to talk to ING clients firsthand. Inspiration for the restaurant or hotel business? Whatser launches a mobile hotspot sharing app in collaboration with Heineken. The aim is to share and recommend hotspots with the app instead of your actual location. Whatser is available for iPhone, Android (from 2.2 on) and Blackberry. (Hospitality) locations that want to inform their regular visitors can keep track for a small fee per month.
Well known liquor brands and Amsterdam bars join hands to surprise the audience during the Amsterdam Bar Week from the 19th to the 23rd of September. A few concepts are already confirmed, others will develop over the next months. There is for example an exclusive Hennessey tastery in The Sopranos Piano Bar, a ‘Contreauversial’ make-over by Cointreau and Rob Peetoom in collaboration with Okura’s 23rd bar and a ‘Barista meets bartender’ evening with cocktail-coffee blends from Drambuie and Buscaglione in Little Buddha.
For everyone who sports for the social element there is the football cocktail shaker. The two parts lock tight and after a heavy match one can look forward to a well shaken cocktail.
