The Trip Boutique and Budapest Brand, the official marketing organization for Budapest, announce the launch of a partnership by which Budapest Brand integrated The Trip Boutique’s solution into its website and will offer custom-made itineraries supplied by The Trip Boutique. With their cookbook ‘Eat & Drink your Christmas tree’, botanical brewer Lowlander, together with chefs Joris Bijdendijk and Samuel Levie, provides more than 20 delicious vegetarian recipes to eat and drink your Christmas tree. The book is written in Dutch but it might be inspiration for other chefs!
Great and affordable wagyu at Japanese restaurant SHIN

The Japanese borders may have opened up on October 11, but thanks to restaurant SHIN you can enjoy Japanese cuisine right here in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. At SHIN, owners Tony and Nanako share all their favourite dishes (like the affordable wagyu) and drinks, prepared by a certified chef from Japan, with the public. In July this year, SHIN, a Japanese tapas bar and matcha café in izakaya style, opened its doors on the Rodezand in Rotterdam Center. This brand new concept is created by entrepreneurs Tony and Nanako, who also own the popular Japanese ramen restaurant Ajisan on the Coolsingel.

Here in the Netherlands, we need to put our coats back on and it’s getting dark early. In short Autumn has really started after a beautiful summer. We have been able to enjoy many drinks on the terrace this year, as can be found in our lists of popular summer drinks and craft liquor drinks from the Netherlands. Now it’s time for autumn, forest walks, hot chocolate, games and Halloween. Even here in the Netherlands, this holiday is being celebrated more and more often. We have a list of spooktacular cocktails, donuts, Chucky beer, food, Halloween cups and events, even a Halloween Bingo!

Hôtel Plaza Athénéé has teamed up with the talented fine art photographer Gray Malin for a photo shoot with dogs, great images on ‘My Dogs from Paris’! And in San Francisco restaurant Dogue serves a tasting menu for your dog. Some dogs have so much luxury around them.
Interesting initiative in London where Head Room Café brings awareness and access to mental health support. And ghost kitchen chain Casper from Belgium recently also launched in the Dutch cities The Hague and Rotterdam.
Last week, the hotels Moxy the Hague and Residence Inn by Marriott the Hague were officially opened, located in the Muzentoren in the city center. And chef Bart De Pooter opened his plant-based restaurant WILDn at the Sapphire House Antwerp.
The last week of September New York enjoyed ‘La vie en rose’ by Maison Valentino, a great example of going ‘Pink all the way’. And OneThird developed a scanner to determine the ripeness of avocados and received a voucher from the Foundation Together Against Food Waste to test this on the shop floor.

Especially for this week, The Entourage Group’s restaurants have created an ‘ADE Cocktail Guide’ for the city and a special cocktail will be added to each menu. So those looking to get in the mood before or after a party know where to go.

IKEA Netherlands participates in ‘Eat No Animals Day’ and they are now also offering coffee with oat drink

From today on, 4th of October, IKEA Netherlands is also offering customers and employees oat drink for their coffee. A cup of coffee at IKEA is well known to many – the free coffee for IKEA Family members attracts many extra visitors to the restaurants every day. By offering oat drink as an option alongside cow’s milk, the Swedish store wants to introduce as many people as possible to plant-based food and drinks in an approachable way. They are also taking part in ‘Eat No Animals Day’, an initiative by the Dutch foundation ‘Wakker Dier’ (Awake Animal).
